It was nice hotel with good supportive staff. Swimming pool was too good for children. The location was too good as it was nearest to city Centre. We got a room with terrace which has sea view. The only draw back was room was too hot and v have to keep AC running through out the day irrespective of the fact we are present or not. No lift in hotel being old building so you have to go by stairs. Highly recommend to those who are with family n want to live near city Centre.
Argos Hotel Kaleici is in the old town, and a short walk from the main street (Ataturk Cd.), historic sites, restaurants, cafes, the bazaar and other tourist amenities. My single room was basic, but unfortunately there was street noise until late at night. The staff was friendly, but didn't speak English; when I checked in there was some confusion over my prepaid booking, which took time to communicate through Google translate. The hotel is on several floors (no elevator). The stairs were a bit steep, but I managed OK (one small bag), but guests with lots of luggage or a stroller might be challenged. The WiFi was OK (it worked better in the lobby). Breakfast was traditional Turkish: hard-boiled eggs, breads, and assortment of salads, cheese and cold cuts, juice tea, coffee. There is a terrace on the roof offering fine views over old town and the gulf.
After reading several reviews I wouldn’t book here personally, but it was part of our tour of Turkey. We had a room above the front entrance....very noisy with music and people partying until about 3:00am in the street below. Otherwise we found it quite charming and a great location in the heart of the old city.
This is a cheap hotel in a good location. Rooms are small but are air conditioned. The room needed a coat of paint but was pretty clean and the service was fine. Their is a small TV fixed to the wall for use. The hotel is in the old city and walking distance to shops, attractions, restaurants and night clubs. The night clubs present a noise issue but this is partially aleviated by double glazed windows. Beds are presented with minimal bedding meaning a midnight tussle with your partner for the blanket! The hotel doesn't have an elevator so good cardio is achieved pulling your suitcases up stairs. Breakfast is adequate in choice and freshness. The property has a small pool that looks in good condition. Basically you get what you pay for here - if you don't pay a lot you can't expect too much.
We stayed few days ago at this hotel. (we made a video, it's on youtube, just search for "Argos Hotel Tour Travel agent couple"). Booked a deluxe room. It had a nice view, and even a small portion of sea view :) The hotel needs to do some repairing in rooms, but overall it was a good deal for the price we paid. It has a very good location, close to everything.
