Stayed two nights here with the OATS trip
You have your own cabin with a balcony that overlooks the rice fields. Large pool is beautiful and relaxing. There are a lot of tour groups that stay here so get to breakfast early.
Also if you are bored go sing Kareoke at night in the dining room.
Talk a walk all around the grounds to see all the beautiful foliage.
If you want to see a real tourist trap go see Wat Rong Khun, commonly referred to as the “White Temple.”
Like little cottages in a tropical setting. Front and back porches, high ceilings, atmosphere plus. Great pool, wonderful massages, good food, great entertainment. Outside of the busy town of Chiang Rai but location was lovely. Definitely needed some upgrading in the shower and bathroom. Rust and mold was an issue.
On the surface, the resort looks lovely - beautiful flowers and plants and a lovely pool area. However, when you look below the surface, the place needs updating and a good cleaning. The floor of my room was so dirty I had to wear shoes all of the time. When I walked around barefoot the first night, I had to scrub my feet before getting into bed. There was some kind of rodent in the rafters above the room; it scratched and made noises most of the night. When I went to breakfast, there were teams of ants on the coffee cups. Finally, I don't think they cleaned my room while I was there. There were long black hairs in the bathtub when I checked in and they were still there when I checked out a few days later. Find some place else to stay when visiting Chiang Rai.
We spent a week here for a retreat. We used one their conference rooms for the retreat and they served us lunch daily and lunch and dinner on the weekend. The staff was very attentive too our needs. The waiters/ waitresses were very polite and attentive. The food was good and puff a good variety. I enjoyed walking the campus. It is a vey peaceful and beautiful place. I can't speak for the cottages because we didn't spend our nights here. They have a beautiful pool so definitely being your swim suit.
If you like to walk, the grounds are very nice but there is nowhere else to go. The rooms are dark and old, though clean and comfortable. The rooms are also not soundproofed. The hotel caters to Chinese tourist groups and it can get quite noisy. The pool is very nice and there was a very listenable singer in the restaurant at night.
Overall, not a terrible place to stay but there are better choices.
