My boyfriend and I stayed here twice, once when we arrived in Sri Lanka and once when leaving! It's in a great location from the beach and shops / restaurants and it's also the cheapest hostel we found that's in close proximity to beginning airport.
The rooms are nice, especially the double room that's on the right as you go in! Very spacious!
The staff are lovely and your supplied with a breakfast in the morning - fried eggs, toast, butter, Jam and a banana

This is good hostel for long time stay. In this hostel tents also available and free wifi. If you want to make coffee you make here also as well as hanging ropes are also here for rest you can enjoy. If you want to share you can share your room with 5 more person also. And beach is about 20-3 minuets from here and air about 20-30 minuets also.

Stayed here for one night while visiting Negombo. We stayed in a private room and overall we were very happy with our stay and recommend the hostel!
Location - Pretty bad location if you want to visit Negombo. It isn't really near anything except the airport. There are no restaurants or even anything to do near the hostel so be prepared to take taxis or tuk tuks into town.
Room - We stayed in the aircon room and I definitely think it was worth the small upgrade. The room was cool and easy to sleep in. The bathroom is a little strange and is a toilet and shower combined. This wasn't an issue for us as the hostel was pretty much empty but if all of the rooms were sold out this would mean you would probably be waiting to use the bathroom and it would likely by wet every time you use it.
Price - Very good value and like I said the air con room was definitely worth it. For the price I don't think you'll find better in Negombo! Highly recommend.

We arrived late after having missed our plane. We booked the tent as it was cheap! Lovely surprise when we got here, beautiful hotel, friendly and clean with excellent Internet. Tent was clean and comfortable with two good sized single mattresses. We hung around the next day using the Internet and drinking tea, they were most accommodating and left us to it. I would recommend this hostel, we looked at the rooms and the sitting room upstairs, all clean and well kept. A BARGAIN!

The flipflop hostel has a very friendly staff and god service. By accident i booked a tent (hilarious) instead of a room. But iT was no problem to change to a bunk, which was ok. Don't forget tour own sheets. You'll Gervais matras sheet and a towel.
I loved the shower, hot water and clean.
