: Rockeby Manor ,Landour has the best location .super lovely hill away from the hustle bustle of Mussorie. A lovely Boutique property and well maintained with its origin being in 1840. The rooms are cozy and the staff is well mannered and trained and quite helpful. Imlys has a variety of food with extra ordinary taste to offer. Since we were a group of 3 families with kids needed a spill over space to gather and chill which was served by the main living room on the ground floor. The back side pebble garden is nice with morning sun and Valley Vistas.
A very special mention Mr. Ashish Godiyal along with Mr. Sandeep Semwal and Sunil Dowal ,who were kind enough to make necessary arrangements to move us to the Main House villa ,and Hell Yeah..it was just a dream come true…what a place. What a location…. What facilities…kids just went nuts seeing this huge sprawling villa and immediately picked up the room with bunk bed as their personal room. ..For us there were plenty of open space to enjoy the weather and the lovely view of the Mussorie …chilling on the deck and terrace was our full day activity. Fully equipped kitchen , twin dining area and a big living area ,huge TV in the living room along with a couple more in the other bedrooms, BOSE music system dock and the list of facilities goes on..Gautambhai ,the care taker of the villa was a Superman..he really spoilt us arranging everything we wished along with the help of Mr. Vikas ..He cooked wonderful rotis and Rice preparation for us..
It was one of the best place I visited in India and instantly reminded me of one of the Villa I stayed in Mykonos ( Greece)..Char Dukand and Landour Bake house are just walking distance and not to be missed for their Ginger –Lemon tea and Chocolate Shakes respectively..
All in all..A wonderful holiday with loads of lovely memories ..
Such royalty and regalty! Total victorian feel! I felt like I owned a cute little bungalow in the the hills of Landour during the British Era! That is the vibe of this place!!! Every room, every corner of the hotel, is so detailed and quaint its unbelievable the effort the management must be putting in to make this property oh so beautiful!
Their breakfast space, cute little library downstairs, the terrace, garden on the ground floor, room balcony are out of the world.
Emily's makes some heavenly Italian food that is to die for!
If you visit Landour, i think there is no better place to live than Rokeby. Its an experience in itself!
Only problem: I think rooms are a little small - though i dont think the hotel can go anything about it since its a pre-independence heritage Bungalow. There were too many kids in other rooms and they were making a lot of noise which was excessively annoying. A place as beautiful as this shouldn't allow kids under 10. It spoils other people's bliss.
It’s a boutique hotel, set in lush alpine hills. We stated in a suite which hotel said has great views which we found to be just ok. The building though is heritage but it’s very well kept with all modern amenities. Views from their villas are much nicer.
Food at Emilies is amazing. The taste and menu would easily compete with any good restaurant in Delhi. It’s very economically priced, similar food in Delhi would easily cost you 2x.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. Though it’s a 3 star hotel but the service and friendliness is easily 5 star.
TIP: Since they only have 12 rooms and only one or two suites with any view they are almost always sold out. It’s recommended that reservations are made in advance. They only have one suite with view, and none of the other rooms have any view.
There are several lovely walking trails. There are a couple of good cafes also walking distance.
Would definitely visit again.
We booked the Rose Suite and a normal room for our stay. The property is near Landour. Really well kept and maintained the essence of a heritage property.
Great old school vibe, staff was helpful overall. Good food, fairly big portions of curries and big size bread.
Due to covid restrictions the breakfast buffet was being served to the table.
we just stayed there for about 15 hours, we had a great stay.
Must Try.
Stayed here for 3 nights at 2 different cottages. Both are located outside the main Hotel building just a short 5 minute drive.
Bothwell Outhouse
A 2-bedroom cottage with kitchen and balcony overlooking beautiful valleys. Its perfect for 2 adults and 2 children as the 2nd room have a bunk bed. Also, the rooms on the first floor share a common bathroom. There is a lounge area on the ground floor with a kitchen and a dining table with big windows to enjoy the view.
Pine tree Lodge
This cottage is much more spacious than the first one and is located at at a distance of around 800m from the Hotel main building right next to the iconic Landour Bakehouse.
You will get a chef and a butler when booking this particular cottage and trust me its worth it! The bedrooms are spacious with en suite bathroom. This cottage is perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples as it provides ample privacy. The views from the balcony and sit out area are just breathtaking.
