The food in this hotel is superb. Amazing dinner with a plethora of food to choose from. The same with breakfast. The rooms are nice and spacious, the surroundings very calm and green. An amazing location overall. They've got sauna and a pool with salty water. Water is not really gave us another, clean, room. The next day we were given a fruit bowl and two bottles of water as an apology and this was appreciated. On the day of our departure we were in our room at 10 am (check out isn't until 11 am). One of the cleaning staff members knocked on our door and asked when we were leaving. When I said that we are going to leave in around half an hour I was given an eye roll and an attitude. We later even heard them complaining and saying that they are just waiting for us to leave. This is something we definitely did not expect from an otherwise good and welcoming staff.
Do not expect sea view if you have got the sea view room. Many seaside rooms have very limited view on the sea.
Do not expect heating in the room, if you visit hotel in November. Technicians did their best and fixed the heating issue in two days.
For the meantime, there are additional blankets in the closet.
Do not expect a table for two in the restaurant. Tables are prepared for parties of four to eight.
But you can expect a really huge buffet choice of good food for breakfast and dinner as well
The inside swimming pool is open from 7h - 21h, seawater is warm enough, to have fun. Saunas are hot from 8h-21h.
Expect bathtubs in the room, and enjoy swimming in the morning hours. In the afternoon, the pool transforms into the playground.
According to the hotel data, distance to the beach is 50 m.
To be honest, add 150 stairs. I’m not sure if it is worth because the beach in the bay is not much bigger than the area around the hotel outdoor swimming pool.
The close vicinity of the hotel is really a climate Mediterranean gem, with nice and long walking paths along the seashore.
Hotel is family-friendly and at the time of school holiday the ambient is close to the kindergarten.
The hotel staff are all professional and very kind.
I have to revise my previous review about this hotel. Our friends recommended this hotel as it is good for families (turns out the neighboring hotel would be even better). Our first experience was quite bad because there was live music until 10 pm below our room, and the beach isn't accessible with a baby stroller. However, our son seems to be having a really good time. From the second night, the music doesn't bother him any more. He really enjoys the water slide and the kiddy pool as well.
The location itself is wonderful...the trail by the sea just below the hotel towards Čikat cove is magical. I was here on a sunny weekend in May, I wonder, though, us it as blissful during busy summer months.
The terrace and the pool with salty water look attractive (I did not get the chance to use the latter).
The breakfast was really varied and good.
The staff were wonderful.
My only complaint is with the original building itself. It seems this hotel has been built during the socialist years and recently refurbished. My room was situated on a half-floor that does not have an elevator stop, I had to drag up my large suitcase. And the mornings were awful. I could hear everyone going to breakfast, talking, coming from breakfast, talking, cleaners starting to clean, also talking.
Overall, the place looks really nice, the location and staff are nice and I wouldn't want to hurt them with a bad review. It's just that I could not get enough sleep. Maybe the rooms on the higher floors are not as noisy?
I was with colleagues at the end of September one weekend at the Aurora Hotel. The staff of the hotel, in the first place, the security guy was very rude and unprofessional. We were sitting outside on the terrace in front of the reception and talking. Security guy came and said we had to leave because we are loud and that the guests would complain, but we just sat and talked. Then we went to the rooms and the security guy went for us to see that we would not be gathering somewhere in the room so we could talk and hang around. Something unseen so far. As if we were teenagers and it was businesses trip people from about 30 to even 50 years, a couple of junior colleagues were as well. We were complained to the receptionist's about treatment of the security guy, but the receptionist said that if we did not calm down he would call the police??? And we just sat and talked because we did not felt asleep. In front of the hotel is a public area, a street, a parking lot, is it forbidden to talk in Croatian on the street after midnight???
In the end we gave in and went to bed. All of us who were there were engineers and smarter fellows always give in!
The next day we made a bicycle tour around the island, when we came back from cycling we wanted to relax in the wellness. They have a total of 4 saunas but they called a wellness hotel. Of these 4 saunas 2 were out of operation. In addition, the pool and sauna area was wet and dirty. It is understandable that around the pool floor is wet but then it is not enough to put the note "wet and slippery", but there should be the person who cares about the floor with the mop and wipes the floor to make it all neat and clean.
