Thr appartment is big and clean. The pool and saunas are very nice. Good breakfast but dinners better to eat in Town. Nice staff at the bar upstairs. Great room service. Nice people in reception. Very helpfull. Taxi to Centre takes about 5-10 mins. We had a lovely stay and will go back again.
The hotel is located in a peaceful area of Lviv whithin a 15 mins walk to the center and with some nice cafes and bars in the neighbourhood. We enjoyed great breakfasts with variety of local food and a very nice service. The room was spacious and comfortable, so was the bed. The only thing to improve was the pool which was extra paid, small and with super cold water.
First, be sure to tell the taxi driver it's the "TOWER-US" Hotel, not the "TOURIST" hotel. The driver at first didn't understand and took me to the wrong place.
The other reviews praising this hotel are right, this is a great place, but it's not perfect. Some of the negative reviews have a few good points as well. The hotel has a great top floor bar, the restaurant menu is the same as room service. The front desk speaks English, and they are clearly trained in excellent customer service. The rooms are roomy, nice, and spotless. Housekeeping will see when you leave for the day and clean your room immediately. The front desk gave me an upgrade which was great. Olga even told me when a cheaper price was available online when I extended my stay, thanks! One of my rooms that I had, had such a large bathroom, large enough to hold a small party in. Lots of TV channels in every language imaginable. Also, in contrast to other reviews, the front desk believed me when I told them I had not used anything from the minibar, and they called a taxi to the airport at a reasonable price and with a professional driver. Again, amazing front desk. They saw me sit down in the lobby to work and immediately turned on the lights. They did little things to help me enjoy my stay.
The hotel is situated in a neighborhood near the historical center. The neighborhood is safe and fine. However, if you have a problem with walking a distance to explore, stay closer in town or have your own transport. I love walking in a local area, so I loved this part of my stay, and a reason I chose it actually. I heard some other guests not liking the location. The hotel is not really a budget hotel, although not terribly expensive either.
The breakfast was outstanding. Except other reviews are right, they should have a microwave available, or the food should be heated at the serving station. Nothing is served very hot. But it was all tasty and again the staff is attentive.
Massages are cheap. If you are not an expert in massage, it should be fine. The bathrooms with tubs should have a safety rail. The swimming pool costs extra. The food was nice, although prices in Ukraine are generally going up.
It's a great hotel, but read this review carefully to understand this hotel. I would stay here again, why not.
This is a modern hotel (although not quite as modern in style as the Taurus city directly opposite it) but clean and comfortable with plenty of space, even in the standard rooms. They are equipped with safe, hairdryer, tv, minibar and even free slippers! The room was spotlessly clean when we arrived and towels were changed even though we were only staying a couple of nights. The breakfast is included but the selection is a bit strange to the British palate with beef stroganoff, fried fish and chicken together with roast potatoes and veg and a very limited selection of pastries, cheeses and meats. Nothing essentially wrong but just not what some might consider as 'breakfast' and also not useful if you are one of those people who likes to make their packed lunch out of the leftovers! Staff were friendly upon both check in and check out and were more than happy to keep hold of our luggage until check in time. We ate one night in the cafe - the food was excellent and more than reasonably priced. Do check the size of the dishes though as whilst some are full meals, others require a side - a piece of information which might be beyond the limitations of the waiter's English and is not included in the English translation of the menu. The bar on the top has a nice view of the city although there was a private party going on when we were there and it lacked atmosphere - feeling more like somewhere you would grab a beer whilst on a conference than being a place to settle down for the evening and enjoy Ukrainian hospitality. There is a pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi as well as massage treatments available - despite what may be written, massages you need to book in advance, usually the day before but the pool you do not. A small charge (and i mean no more than £2) gets you access to the pool and a towel, robe and slippers so you don't need to raid your room. Whilst perfectly clean, the pool was a little cold when we were there. The hotel is located a little bit out of the old town (about 20 mins walk) and the same distance roughly from the station. Trams stop at the end of the road and the hotel is more than happy to arrange transport. We walked and it was a nice way to see a bit more of Lviv. It also gives you an opportunity to buy water and drinks for your room. Whilst the minibar is cheap, it wasn't refilled during our stay so the shop was essential, as well as being much better value. If you want to hire a car, there is plenty of secure parking on site too.
Nice hotel with nice, modern, excellently equipped rooms and swimming pool. Good location. I loved Taurus restaurant with a fascinating panorama view over the High Castle park and St. George's Cathedral, the main Eastern Catholic cathedral in Ukraine.
I will come back!
