It's not an apartment, its a room (very small and old fashioned) in a big house (not a villa). There is no living room or kitchen but only shared kitchen outside the house.
There is not enough space for luggages, the bed is small and if u are taller than 1.50m you can t sleep, inside the room you can hear every noise of the house, the park is in a crowded road and once arrived you can t move the car, the wc is more or less at 2.5 meters from your pillow. Most of the services and facilities described in the pictures or on the description are not available or better they don t exist. Really bad experience, fortunately only for a short time.
What a warm welcome in wonderful Dubrovnik!
* Guesthouse owner came every morning with homemade brandy/schnapps!
* Nearby busstop (10min walk) bus goes every 10minutes other bus (5min walk) every hour to the old city
* Outdoor kitchen with nice grill place
* Very helpfull and concerned owner
* Mandarins from the garden
* Supermarket (5min walk)
* Sea (where you can swim) is just down the seep stairs next to the house. It has a beautiful view at dawn!
* At the end of the bed is a footboard. When you're over 1,90mtr you can have a little less space.
No airco but a big ceiling fan
Not many parking places and little narrow parkingspots
Fridge in room available
The only thing better than the nice clean room with a beautiful view was the hospitality of the owners.
We were welcomed with local beers, given maps and they explained everything to see in Dubrovnik, about local transportation and top picks for dinner. And offered us coffee every morning.
Location is 3 km from the bus station (easy walk along the beach) and the villa itself is about 500 metres to the closest bus station that takes you directly to the old city. Many great restaurants and beaches nearby if you want to escape the crowded old city.
Room was spotless, with a fridge; I wish tripadvisor had a bonus points to give, this place would deserve one for the best mattress I've slept on in all my travels. :)
Wi-fi is really fast and reliable.
Villa Josephina would suit perfectly for a couple or if visiting Dubrovnik for the first time, as they owners really take care of you!
If you need a transportation from the airport or bus station, email the owner, they pick you up for a small charge and you avoid arguing the price of a taxi.
Loved the place! Another bonus point for the friendliest, cutest little dog we fell in love in :)
Villa Jozephina is perfect if you are looking for a comfortable and low - hassle stay in the less busy part of Dubrovnik. The room me and my friend stayed in was a double en suite room. It was pretty basic but still very comfortable and clean, and there was a fridge, towels and and hairdryer. In our booking summary it said we were to have a terrace and we didn't. We didn't mind at all and didn't mention it but it might be worth double checking things like that if it really makes a difference to your stay. The shared kitchen is outside with a cover over, so it's really lovely to have breakfast there and look through to the harbour. Just watch out for the midgies at night!
The villa is located in Babin Kuk, which is on the Lapad side. We were a 5/10 minute walk from a lovely peaceful pebble beach, and just 5 minutes from that was the busier Copacobana beach. The bus stop to and from town is only 5 minutes away, but these buses get super busy so if you want to make it to town I would highly recommend getting an early bus as otherwise you will have to wait a long time.We were there at the end of august so not sure what it is like in a less - touristy season.
The best thing about Villa Jozephina is the people who run it. Silvio is very helpful and speaks great English, and his father called Ivo is the most welcoming and hospitalitable man I've ever met. My friend and I arrived about 10pm and we were immediately given beer and snacks, and they said we could sort out payment the next morning. When we did pay, the exchange rate was very good. Ivo was always offering us wine, beer and food, and him and his wife were just so lovely. I think it really made a difference to our stay, as we always felt welcome and well-looked after.
Spent 3 nights at Villa Jozephina and can't recommend it enough. Leo and his family are the nicest people and nothing is too much trouble. Leo and his father made us very welcome when we arrived, showing us a map of the local area and letting us know how to get the the square where the bars and restaurants are and how to find the local beach. They also plied us with some very strong homemade spirits which certainly woke us up (it was only 10.30 in the morning!) They also gave us lots of information about good restaurants to visit in the Old Town and what we shouldn't miss.
Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean with a small ensuite bathroom. We had a fridge in the room which was really handy as we could buy some bits to have for breakfast and most importantly keep the beer cold! There is an outdoor kitchen which the guests share, which includes a barbecue grill. There were lots of utensils and glassware which we were free to use.
Location is great-2 minutes walk to a local supermarket, 10 minutes walk to the main square with lots of bars, restaurants and the most popular beach. We chose to go to Copacabana beach instead, which is a much quieter shingle beach about 15 minutes walk from the rooms. There is a bus which you can catch to get to Old Town but we didn't use it as we'd already spent a few days in the Old Town and wanted a bit of peace and quiet. Certainly got that here- would highly recommend these rooms.
