This is an adequate hostel. The staff is friendly, altho we did have language barriers. The room is small, bed not very comfortable. However, it is clean and the price is very reasonable. There is a nice little garden area to hang out. No hammocks tho. The location is good, close to La Merced park and lots of restaurants. Fairly quiet for sleeping.
Directly across the road from the Yellow House, we came here when that was fully booked. Decent rooms, very clean spacious shared bathroom, kitchen and fridge facilities, adorable dog, beautiful garden with lime, orange and cotton growing! Family run place, who'll talk to you in Spanish whatever your level. 120Q for private room with shared bathroom. (100 for single, 150 with bathroom)
Internet available at reception or in the garden.
We were lucky to be there almost completely alone, so the rooftop, although not spectacular, was completely ours. Our room was overlooking the garden and perfect to get away from the noise of the city. The beds were clean and neat, as was the bathroom. We left our stuff out in our rooms all day without consequence. The people were friendly and engaged us, despite our considerable language barrier. The only 'negative' is that it's a tiny bit out of the way, meaning we weren't thrilled about walking back at night, but this was also without consequence. The price was also perfect.
The place seemed tranquil at first since when you get inside you have to pass by an indoor garden and its walled around, typical spanish style.
So the first night was great but once it got packed with teenage americans it got rowdy and they brought in guests from outside even though the sign clearly stated that they shouldnt.
(+) sweet place
management was friendly
comfortable room, beds, linens and they brought me an extra pillow.
Tables and chairs around the place so you can eat your cooked dishes.
Kitchen seemed nicely equiped.
(-) management did not speak much english thats probably why they couldnt tell off the non guests
No wifi at the time we were there.
