Met my full expectations. Stellar service. Stayed for 15 days and during that time the staff was attentive, welcoming and the fiid was great. Had a grand Executive level room with a great view of the Parliament Building. The restraunt Garden served the included breakfast was top notch for a 5 star hotel. Would definitely stay again.
The room was big and the location is one of the best from Bucharest, near the House of people. The staff was very politely and well prepared. I liked the dining on the terrace and many thanks to Liliana for the excellent serving.
We stayed here for 3 nights and we had no regrets choosing JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. The hotel location is great & just minutes away to the Old Town. You can find many luxury brand boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Dolce Gabanna & etc in the lobby. There is a casino too. Check in was swift & fuss-free. Our room was upgraded to the Executive Suite. The room was huge & we loved the amenities in the room. The bed was so comfy. Loved it!
Breakfast was ok with wide selection. Most of the staff were friendly especially Mihnea (check-in), Tamara (Concierge - info about tour) & George (Belldesk). Thank you for your hospitality!
A Special shout out to Vlad from the front desk. I urged the Management to give Vlad the recognition that he undoubtedly deserves & we were grateful beyond belief to have been served by him upon check out.
Overall, we had a truly pleasant stay! Thank you!
I would always stay at JW brand around the world, but Bucharest location was a miss. My travel team recommended another other hotels in Bucharest, but these are the misses
1. My mobile app showed my reservation and my status number, but front desk could not find my reservation. So no such welcome as a valued member.
2. I was told the room had a great view, but only good thing was a high floor, but just looking at the road. No great view.
3. Room was very dusty and seems like it was not cleaned well. Now with global pandemic news of Coronavirus, I expected the rooms to be cleaned with extra care.
4. At at the champion late evening, food was good and service was great as well. I guess hospitality does live on at these restaurants.
Hotel seems to be new and room was a good size, but missed on the details and not a JW standard. Just big room does not mean better. I had better welcome and stay at other no luxury brand. I started to experience inconsistency among various JW(Bangalore India used to be great, but now I stay at other luxury brand) and starting to see better experiences such as Edition brand.
I would NOT recommend this hotel since there are other great options available in Bucharest.
Stayed at JW Mariott for 3 nights and upgraded to an executive suite with access to the executive lounge for a very reasonable price. It was cheaper than two of us paying for breakfast each morning and is definitely worth it.
Our room was lovely and spacious with everything you need. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and we had a nice courtesy call to the room to make sure we had everything we wanted. The rooms cleanliness couldn't be faulted and the fact cards about Bucharest and chocolate truffles left after the turn down service each night was a nice touch (the truffles were delicious, I looked forward to them each night!)
We really got our moneys worth in the Exexutive lounge. Not only was breakfast quiet (although I cant comment on the breakfast served elsewhere in the hotel) the afternoon tea and evening food was more than enough to have for dinner! There was pasta, fresh salads, bread, chicken, potatoes and fruit and desserts so you could easily make a meal with afters. The drinks fridges were constantly replenished and being a few doors down from our room meant we could help ourselves all day and night without having to touch the mini bar in the room, which was especially good for the beer!
The only negative I can mention about the hotel is the pool area. Because it is open to the public and not exclusively for hotel guests, when we went on a Sunday afternoon it was noisy and busy and not as relaxing as we were hoping for. We couldn't get a bed to sit on at the pool side. Also good to note that the saunas are in the changing rooms so dont expect to be able to sit together as a couple.
The hotel really did make our trip to Bucharest that extra bit special. We felt like we were treated like VIPs by all of the staff and couldn't want for anything. The room was comfortable, food tasty and there were a constant supply of taxis out front to get about in, although it was only a 30 min walk into the Old Town if you're that way inclined.
