The hotel overlooks the waterfront and our room had a panoramic view over the harbour. The room itself was big and clean but perhaps nothing special.

What really set the hotel apart was the food - the evening meal was great. I would recomend the squid and lamb in particular - the squid was probably the best I have tasted. The wines were good too and very inexpensive, so overall a great experience.

Just returned from five days at Malvina House Hotel in Stanley and it lived up to the previous reviews on this site. The food is excellent,i'm a conservative eater, but tried the reindeer steak and toothfish dishes....fabulous !The staff are eager to please, nothing too much trouble, the only black mark was my room (Number 18),inside was very high standard,no complaints there, but situated next to the rear entrance of hotel and the large doors made loud bang every time a guest left or entered.Hope the hotel could do something as it became irritating after a while, but would still wholeheartedly recommend the hotel as a base to explore this extraordinary place.

We stay here quite often, the rooms are large and modern with spacious bathrooms. The staff are all very friendly and happy to help.

The lunchtime menu is good although it is nothing in comparison to the evening menu. The evening menu is that of a top restaurant with a large variety of dishes. The Lamb shoulder and the salted chilli squid are amazing. Vegetarians do not have much choice.

In the bar you can purchase tapas and lighter meals.

We didn't use the spa as we thought it was £15 each and therefore a little pricey but it is £15 for up to 4 people so not too bad.

Ask for a room with a sea view.

We spent the last few days of our ' Falkland Odyssey' in Stanley and it was a good choice!
Our room overlooked the harbour- I would have enjoyed just sitting in the large window seat , taking in the local environment - but there was too much to see in a short visit .
The room itself was well appointed and spotlessly clean. The tea and coffee making facility in the room was much appreciated.
The staff were without exception, friendly and informative whilst always being professional.
We had intended to eat in the restaurant the first evening and then try other eating places for the rest of the time -but the meal so good we decided to stay put!
