Been coming here since 2007. Absolutely get a superior room with a deck. The rooms with 2 beds are a little bigger with smaller deck. Room with 1 bed are slightly smaller, but with bigger deck. Rack to dry clothes and big beautiful garden trees provide shade, privacy and relaxing. The coffee is absolutely a good deal. Strong, delicious and made right. Staff is very accommodating and professional.
You do have to pass by massage hawkers now to enter the private walkway, but where do you not nowadays?
Book early, this place is ALWAYS sold out!!!!

I’ve been staying at the Lamphu house for years! Every time I come through Bangkok, I choose to stay in this wonderful guesthouse for many reasons!!
* the price is great, less than $30 for a private, air conditioned, hot shower, balcony room that’s super clean!
* great location! Tucked away in a back garden in a great area, Banhlamphu, right in the action, but just close enough to Khao San road( trust me, you don’t want to stay there!) fun to visit, but this area across the street is so much better.
*great staff that always great me and welcome me back! The guesthouse is very safe, with lockers and storage, you never have to worry while staying here.
* great restaurant there as well, with a lovely garden setting. I eat a lot of my meals here. They make the best cappuccinos and banana pancakes! Their dinner menu is excellent too. I recommend the curries, and the prices are great!
* book in advance! This guesthouse is very popular and sells it! You can book with them direct online or easily with booking.com.
See you next year!

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with Lamphu house and I would request Bookings.com to please look into this so that future customers do not experience what me and my family had to go through. On arriving at Lamphu my family and I were having an internal discussion as we did not like our rooms. The photos associated with Lampuhouse are different from the rubbish room I was offered. Both my rooms were next to the common bathroom and toilet. I had requested him to not charge my credit card as I wanted to pay by cash. For some unknown reasons he got angry at us and charged my card, in a way to presurize me to pay immeidately and threatening me as he had my credit card details. This has been my first time encountering this sort of a treatment which is disappointing and embarassing.I bet no one would like their family to go through such a bad treatment.

Nestled right in the middle of old Bangkok, Lamphu House is probably the best place to stay at, given its price range. Very cordial hosts, a nice refreshing breakfast, nice cozy room, right beside Khao San night market : the list of pros just keeps on going! Highly recommend it to people who have a one or two nights stop at Bangkok before moving to the South or North!

Booked a quadruple room , which was on the third floor. Quick check in. Beds were comfy, the room was airy. The balcony was spacious and drying rack for clothes was provided in the balcony. Super clean place. Shampoo and body wash provided in the bathroom. Daily cleaning of room and change of towels done upon request at the reception downstairs. There was some problem with the commode which they fixed immediately. Guest fridge was provided on the second floor.
Lovely seating on the ground floor amidst the greenery, could have breakfast here.
Walkable distance from Khao san road and the grand palace. The staff was very helpful . 7/11 store close by. Value for money.
What i didn’t like - There should be a system to contact the reception instead of walking down all the three floors. The water pressure in the shower seemed a bit inadequate. Also , suggesting to put in shower curtain.
Overall a great stay. Would stay there again next time.

Sure, there single rooms are 290 baht per night shared bathroom. They book up pretty quickly but the singles are the only rooms they don't allow you to reserve online so if you get to the reception just before 11am you should get the single. There's a 500 baht refundable key deposit. There's no wifi in the room but there's free wifi downstairs at the 24 hour reception. It's clean and safe here and really well run. Hope this helps :))
