This hotel is simply beautiful! The architecture is amazing with intricate detail and care. You really feel the culture in this hotel. The staff are amazingly gracious, friendly, and very helpful. In fact, they even helped us get our money back after a rogue taxi driver over charged us the day before, without us even asking!

The service is great, get hot water bottles at night for warmth as well as a small heater for the room. The food is delicious! The rooms were spacious and decorated nicely, and dust free!

The only “negative” are the bathrooms. While they are technically clean, they are outdated and some mold appears on the walls. Hopefully they will update soon to match the rest of the hotel’s newness and decor!

Would definitely recommend to others!!

Very pleasant Hotel in the middle of Thamel. Spacious rooms, very clean and a superb room service. Nice restaurant with various delightful dishes. Despite busy Kathmandu city it is a very quiet hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much. Every wish we uttered was fulfilled hardly that we told it. Reception was most helpful to find places we were looking for. In addition to that it’s a hotel trying to work without plastic in regard to our environment. And that for some 20 years now, not just recently due to present discussions. All in all thank you for 10 days of luxury and joy.

The overall decor of the room is really beautiful. Just don't forget it is an eco hotel so no TV, but internet is good enough for any you tube watching etc.. No cental heating but you will be provided with an electric heater. It was enough for our stay in Feb this year. Hot water bottles were neatly tucked every evening in our beds.
We were half-board. Evening meals were brilliant as it was A la Carte. Ganesh recommended plenty of local and Indian dishes.
Plenty of hot water, just wait a bit as it is powered by solar panels.
Quite area, good location.

This place is hidden in the back streets and looks amazing both outside and inside. Location is good as it’s only a 5 minute walk to the craziness of Kathmandu market streets. The staff were great and so helpful. We booked a suite and actually wished we had booked a double room, mainly because it was freezing cold and we were given a little 4 bar heater. They did provide an electric blanket and hot water bottle which we greatly appreciated. On passing a double room it looked so much better and cozy. Unless there 3 or 4 people definitely go for a double as the suit was overpriced and not worth the extra.
There’s no lift in this building so be careful if you struggle up stairs as there’s 12 lots to the 3rd floor!

The basic rooms don’t have windows, but they come with a high and low table each equipped with two chairs. Because of the lack of windows it can get quite warm, but the hotel also provides fans.

We stayed on a first floor room as my mother has trouble with stairs. Room was large with Windows/ window seat over looking the gardens. Think it was just a standard room (101). Was a bit dark at the back but that was more of a lighting issues.

I don't think you need to be picked up at the airport. I walked out recently, and got offered first off a taxi to the hotel for £6,. English . Or $6.- Australian, I can't remember, but it was the first offer I got, and I couldn't be bother haggling after a long flight to save maybe a few cents. The hotel will organise anything you want. They charge more like $10.- Australian , but then you have a sort of guarantee. The hotel reception staff is really friendly and intelligent, you can talk to them. I booked my taxi to the airport to leave Kathmandu via them , even though it is a little more expensive that way than walking down the street , but I wanted a feeling of guarantees. The hotel is really good. As for booking direct, any hotel pays a percentage to the system that you book through, so it is always, internationally, possible to get a better deal if you deal direct. But then you might feel a little nervous and uncertain, and is it worth it. The people behind the counter at the hotel are really intelligent. They speak great English and have a sense of humour. You can talk to them.
