The breakfast is nothing to write about. Very minimalistic - did not change for the whole of our stay (7 days)!
Good location. Clean and confortable beds. The WC was small and there was a distinctive smell of sewage in the shower. It wasn't unbearable, but ever present. Clearly, this hotel has done a lot of mileage and will need a significant revamp in the near future.
Friendly staff. Free wifi. No coffee in the room. There was a mini fridge in the room (empty - you have to stock it yourself). Quiet (at least in the upper floors), except for the mosque calls at 05:30 am. The pool was being renovated.
Stay here if you want to spend the night with minimal comfort and relatively low cost.
A small scale hotel which needs lots of improvement and renovation.
Room - good size. Good view.
Shower - plastic mixer hose type in a cubicle. Loose fitting shower head which had a mind of its own.
Toilet - loose plastic toilet seat.
Lighting - Extremely poor. Was using my mobile phone light to read in night.
TV reception very poor.
Wifi - brilliant.
Breakfast - repetitive min menu. Dry state of most food esp bread.
Reception staff are willingly very helpful.
15min walk to city centre.
This city centre either has very expensive waterfront hotels or the lower star rating hotels dotted around. Its a pity that this city doesn't cater for the full range of star rated hotels.
Take care walking around town - pavements are uneven, potholes everywhere and trip hazards. Look down when walking and avoid ankle sprains!.
Roads are deserted after 7pm but feels safe to walk around.
First time in Mauritius. Choose this place since it near my client place... really a basic room. Absolutely nothing to say about it. Breakfast is the same everyday. U could ask for egg and bacon, they will cook for you.
The good thing is wifi is strong and my room view is amazing.
Don't stay here if u active person. Street is dead after 7. There a bar in the hotel plus 2 more near by...
Rude and racist staff in the restaurant, they claim to offer buffer breakfast and restricting the guest not to have the second omlette .........you request them to switch on the AC or atleast the fan as the room temp is very hot, they will nod their head and after 10 minutes when you request them once again, after showing faces, they will switch on the fan and keep it running at the lowest possible speed to discourage you to stay any further. I have been staying here since the 16th and will be checking out on the 20th, . Room split airconditioner is pathetic, requested for a wake up call by 7 am and by 8.20 i get up on my own and asked the reception why was i not woken up, the answer comes from the hotel male receptionist that.........I WAS BUSY"SO FORGOT...........does not even feel sorry for his mistake nor do they value others time. . just thought of sharing my experiences for others to decide when they choose this hotel for a business stay. Thank goodness i did not come and stay at this hotel with my family for holiday.
The only hotel in town centre, located in front of the French Embassy.Walking distance to bus station, supermarket n WaterFront.Old hotel but clean n well managed.Service/ staff is ok.Cheapest standard double room at euro80 per night is expensive.Breakfast is simple with bread n butter jam n cereal only.Swimming pool beside the restaurant is small n old, not suitable for a swim.A bar available n comfortable lobby.View of the Hills are nice.
