Our room was small, but very comfortable, it was clean and cool, even during the heat hours of the day. The riad is a little hard to find the first time, as it is inside the Medina, in a place that cars can't reach, but the staff was really nice and went till a nearby mosque to pick and guide us. About the mosque, it is really close, so at 6am the prayer can wake you up. The localisation is really good, being some 1.5km from the main square in an almost straight line. The breakfast was really good, with eggs, bread, juice, coffee and jam. Also I need to praise the staff for everything they did, Khalid and Abdo are out of this world. They were there from even before our arrival, answering our questions thru message and helping arrange a pickup on the train station. During our stay they were there every moment to ensure that we were having a good time.
Thank you Khalid and Abdo for everything you guys did for us.
Everything that most people comment on is almost correct about this place, but I need to add about our own experience because what seems to be like an incredible nice service compared to what we have in the west can in fact become an usurpation of funds especially by Khalid and Loubna, so BEWARE.
I travelled there with a family member in June 2018, I see people commenting about the taxi so we have to say that for us the taxi was not free at all, we had to pay it to go to the hotel and then when it was time to leave we were asked by Khalid to prepay the money for the taxi the night before. I had put money on the side for the taxi according to what we first paid when we arrived but to Khadid it was not enough and he demanded more for the taxi service.
Off course, as it is stated many times in the comments, the taxi cannot go inside the small alleys where the hotel is located and we had Abdul welcome us and escort us to the hotel, wonderful individual indeed. Beware of these small alleys when you are by yourself, indeed NEVER book this hotel if you are travelling alone, especially if you are a women, we had experienced youth coming towards us and telling us that the road was closed and we should follow them, do not follow them. We also had experienced an adult bicycle rider stopping and offering his help, do not follow such individuals, their ultimate goal is to get money out of you.
We were in the main floor and the room was fine, we just didn't like the fact we had to lock the doors with a locker. It was clean but we had a great surprise the day we left, we found a cockroach as big as a thumb in the washroom, never seen anything like this.
The night before our departure we came to the hotel very late and were very tired, Khadid indeed took advantage of that and demanded we paid for the taxi in advance and for the hotel as he said he had no confirmation of the payment. It was very surprising as everything was booked in advanced and paid for, we even showed him proof of payment through a cell phone, yet he still insisted we needed to pay for our stay as it was not received. He even insisted that if it is a mistake we will get a refund and gave us Loubna contact. After contacting Loubna and giving her our paypal account we got no payment to this day (6 months after) and she doesn't answer emails anymore. So I am very surprised that she is sworing Jody772015 will get his refund. When will we get our refund Loubna ??
This riad made all the difference in our trip to Marrakech. On our arrival we were escorted from the taxi stop by the most helpful and kind man, working in the riad, we met in this city. He led us through the narrow alleys to this beautiful house and welcomed us with mint tea while he made all arrangements with checking in. Without him meeting us we would never have found our way, although it was a short walk and easy to find once we knew how to twist and turn. Also the transfer from Menara airport was arranged by the riad, which I very much recommend. Very nice and clean room with an equally nice bathroom. Quiet surroundings and nice terrace. On our stay we met two gentlemen working here, and they were both very kind and helpful. For example they helped us to book an excursion to the mountain town of Ourika. Well organized in a nice car with a knowing and nice driver. The riad offers multiple excursions of different lengths in cooperation with an outside excursion service. Also there was a woman who helped prepare breakfast every morning, which was very fresh and good with some new varieties every morning. It is also possible to receive a hamam-treatment in the riad, which my wife did, and she was very pleased. We had some problems at the beginning of our trip with me beeing sick making us arrive three days late, but the manager Loubna and us came to a good agreement to both our pleasing, I hope. All in all, highly recommended. /Jon and Ulrika
This hotel looked lovely and the staff were helpful. Breakfast/lunch was only available on demand. There were a few insects found in the room which wasn't that big of a deal to me but might bother others. Upon leaving, the hotel charged us twice and said that we would get a refund but never did. We requested the refund many times and they said they would get it done but its been 4 almost 5 months now and we are still waiting for a refund. Please be careful and avoid this place if you don't want to pay for nothing.
I was still there yesterday and I loved it so much!! During my various trips to different parts of the world I stayed in many different guest houses, hotels, resorts and during our recent trip to Morocco we also stayed in different riads too, Riad Ariha was one of my favorites!! It is not a big riad but it is so cozy and comfortable. I love the white walls and greyish blue doors!
The staff was so helpful and kind to us! they gave us a lot of information about where to go and where to eat. On our arrival day Abdul came to pick us up at the taxi station and led us to the Riad and he even led the way for us when we went out for the first time and said we can call him if we cannot find our way back. Our flight was at night and we could stay in our room and take a shower after we checked out.
I read some reviews that riad is kinda complicated to find cause it is inside the medina, but somehow we could find it easily after the first time. Also since it is deep inside the medina it is very quite and peaceful.
Also, the room was very nice and clean, the bed sheet smells good and I love the little cute swimming pool.
