we stayed in Diwane hotel in february. i wasn`t sure what to expect having never been in morocco but i was very impressed from the start. the doorman took our cases from the taxi and showed us to reception where he brought us some mint tea while we filled in registration form. we were given a nice room that overlooked the pool. the house cleaning staff presented our room each day with a new animal made from our towels. every member of staff were excellent. the food was of a very high standard and you could order beer or wine in the restaraunt or at the pool . all in all a lovely stay in maybe the best hotel in the new town
Arrived late but reception managed to still get us some dinner, really nice staff we were offered a day trip to essaouira which we didnt even think about doing however it we managed to fit it in our schedule and it was truly an amazing day trip so glad the travel guide suggested it. room was amazing was a short stay so we didnt get the chance to use the swimming pool or spa hopefully next. food was great stuff was very helpful and kind. Location was great everything was close by short walks or could get into a taxi. the only negative would be the internet wasnt great in the room had to go to the hall way or downstairs. overall a great stay would definately stay again
Arrived late at night, Marrakech appears slightly daunting, manic and noisy. Some guests were greeted with Moroccan tea...we were not however. Our room was on the street and very drab and noisy, but as it was late and the guy who showed us to our room spoke little English, we spent the night there. Next day I paid £60 for an upgrade for next 3 nights. Well worth it, quieter room with balcony overlooking pool/terrace. The rest of the staff spoke excellent English and go out of their way to please you. Hotel and rooms are very clean. Breakfast buffet was plentiful, the standard omelette station, breads/toast, cereal, juices, tea/coffee, fresh fruits, pastries and small variety cooked foods. Dinner buffet was ok, but food luke warm as it was never covered due to people leaving the covers off. Staff service needs to be more attentative as no drinks are provided....and I had to ask for drinks each time (staff should be making sure guests have drinks so the hotel makes money) Pool area lovely calm away from the madness of the roads outside (If you opened a car horn shop you will make millions due to the incessant sounding of car horns - crossing the roads is fun!) Overall a brilliant location. We walked to the medina twice, probably 30 minutes stroll, fast walk 20 mins. The YSL garden was only half a mile away, so 10 to 15 min walk. The top rated cocktail bar The Barometer, is on the next street to the side of the hotel. A must for cocktail fans. Expensive but worth it. Booking usually required....or if just 2 of you like us, tell them you drink alcohol and have lots of money - this worked lol. Overall a good experience, felt safe walking around, plenty Police around. I would return.
I surprised my partner with a 5day stay here at the Diwane Hotel and Spa. Having never been to Marrakech before I had read all the reviews of the hotel before coming and I can honestly say that the hotel was perfect! On arrival they greet you with their Moroccan tea which taste amazing. My partner was very happy with the location and the hotel itself which had a nice Moroccan feel to it, we had good service, was clean and they had upgraded us to a bigger room which had a nice view overlooking the pool. The room was big. The food was good and the pool & spa was so nice. I'd highly recommend this hotel as its walking distance to so many nice restaurants, shopping and is situated in New Town of Marrakech. If you stay here ensure you go to Barometer restaurant around the corner :).
We stayed 4 nights B&B at the beginning of February. Check-in was great after an early start and our rooms were ready for us which was a nice surprise. Concierge took our bags to our rooms. Our rooms were in need of a refurb but very spacious and clean with everything you needed. Some bedrooms are undergoing refurbishment so a little noisy at times but we were out and about so noise didn’t bother us. Breakfast is a continental buffet with freshly made omelettes and crepes to order. My mum is coeliac so could only have omelette or fruit. Staff had to google coeliac to understand. Although we ate in the hotel one night and the chef was aware of coeliac and catered for my mum. Location is great, hotel in new town with lots of great restaurants close by. Barometre is a must try - out of the hotel and turn right and right again. Large metal B on pavement and go down steps. Taxi/horse and carriage to medina 50 dirhams BUT YOU NEED TO BARTER as they will start at 150 dirhams. Or it’s a 20 minute walk. Be careful of taxi drivers outside hotel, they offer a 2 hour tour for 100 dirhams and tried to split us up into 2 cars 200 dirhams. Sky rooftop bar is across the main road from Diwane and has great views of city. Pool area at hotel was lovely, pool attendant brought towels for sunbeds and waiter service with drinks was great.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
