The room smelled of sewer, so y poo u begin by airing out the bathroom. The plumbing did not work and something tells me it never does work from reading the other reviews. The toilet does not fill up and so it doesn't flush.. awful. We told one staff member and he said he would discount the room and get it fixed for us that day. That time came and passed.. and still no repairs the next day. When came time for the discount it was denied.. we paid full price for a smelly room without a functional toilet. I won't even go on about the activity on the streets outside your window.. good luck getting to sleep early. Avoid the hassle, and book elsewhere .
It was really good choice I made. The hotel is in calm area opposite the entrance to the garden Jnane Sbile so I had a nice view of the wall. It was really good place also for it was located between Fes el Bali and Fes Jdid so I had close to both parts of Fes. Plus close to Mellah which is interesting to see, although it is a bit ruined now.
I came to the hotel earlier than I announced and room was not ready yet, but they were so nice that they did it in order really quickly so I could move in almost immediately. The room was small but perfectly fine and comfortable also.
Wifi worked perfect also.
Staff was nice and helpful, and so there is nothing on the whole hotel I can complain about. I would leave the hotel early in the morning for my flight was 6:00 in the morning and even this worked very nicely, taxis was already waiting for me so everything flowed smoothly.
That said close to el Bali so at night it was easy to go and eat at several restaurants at Bab Boujloud.
So if I'm going to Fes again, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
This hotel doesn't deserve any more of my time so in summary - my room was small, dirty and looked onto the alleyway which generated A LOT of noise, children were running around the hotel througout the night and kept knocking on my door, the toilet backed up causing a putrid smell, the 'shower' was a trickle of water and both the shower and basin drains backed up.... However despite all of this the manager (very rudely) refused to move me to another room so I checked out early which was the best decision ever made. Quite simply, don't stay here and put yourself through hell.
This is a basic little hotel but the location is great being only about 100m from the entrance to the Medina.
The rooms are a good size and the shower is OK. our room at the back of the hotel on the first floor overlooked a residential street which was a bit noisy with children playing until quite late but that was not really a problem as we were out most of the time enjoying the amazing city of Fez.
Staff accommodating and there is a nice little roof top terrace.
basic but freshly prepared typical Moroccan breakfast.
We would recommend for the budget conscious traveller.
We stayed four nights. It is outside the Medina but very close to walk in. Located right across the street from the Park of same name. breakfast was basic but standard Moroccan. Not alot of resaturants right close by but a few minutes walk into medina there is tons. street noise is an issue so ask for a room not on the street. They organized a day guide for us and it was fine. Room was clean and big. 330 dh a night.
