I stopped here with my family on our way home from vacation because my husband was violently ill. There were little things I noticed upon check-in like a torn blanket on the bed and a roach crawling on the floor. However, the most vexing part of all was being charged a $50 smoking fee. I do not smoke, my husband does not smoke, and my 1-year-old definitely does not smoke. When I called the first time the front desk staff told me I had to call back and speak to a manager. When I called the second time the front desk staff (who turned out to be the general manager) told me that both housekeeping and herself smelled smoke. I explained the situation and mentioned that my family does not smoke. She told me that she smelled smoke so someone definitely smoked in the room. At which point I was hurt by the insinuation that I would smoke in a confined space in the presence of my toddler. When I mentioned this she then insinuated that a separate guest had smoked in the room. Feeling utterly defeated, I asked if I could fight the charge to which the GM responded that "I could fight it but she would fight it right back." That $50 could have gone to diapers and instead I'm reaping the consequences for something I simply did not do. I wish I would have read the reviews before staying here as many of them stated the constant and lingering smell of smoke that permeates the air. A few other reviews also state being cheated out of $50. The only compensation I have gotten is an email from the GM insisting we smoked in the room and denying what was said to me.
Keisha the over night worker. She was very pleasant. We wasn't satisfied with our room she had no problems changing our room and upgraded it. She had a smile and made us feel real comfortable. The staff here work together.
We are staying at the red roof Inn everyone from the housekeepers to the wonderful front desk manager mr mohit have surely gone out of their way to make our stay like home i deeply appreciate all the love they have spreaded throughout our stay thank you Redroof for accompanying us.
I stayed next door to my friend Mary for 6 nights here because we both had to evacuate NMB, SC. What a hassle till we got to this motel. Held our rooms even though we didn’t get there till 11:30 pm!The front desk staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful anywhere! We had 2 cats & 2 rooms so they told housekeeping just give us clean towels, dump the trash, & gave us extra TP & coffee for our rooms, plus they have coffee 24 hrs a day in lobby. Keisha took excellent care of us, & Phyllis went above & beyond & didn’t get confused or upset with me when I extended the wrong room. She was so Efficient she cleared everything right up! Hot Breakfast every morning & directions to anywhere we wanted to go. Phyllis even told us about an Excellent Mexican Restaurant right down the street. Motel manager at front desk was also very accommodating, I believe her name is Jameisha, & Shana was also very helpful and Very Nice. They helped make a Nightmare if our Evacuation so much more pleasant!
We came in to augusta from Germany stationed here in the army..We booked the hotel online..on my positive note is they allowed our dog. Negative note the room was so small not even room for our luggage or for the girls to play with any toys. There was only about 2 feet or less walk way around the beds..the very small refrigerator and microwave was in what was suppose to be the closet. The room smelled terrible we bought a candle to help with the smell. It was 90 degree and the pool was not open CLOSED BY THE HEALTH DEPT...laundry facility not working..and then we go to watch tv and the remote only changed channels from a certain direction in the room. The bathroom had mold all over the ceiling and walls.
DEFINATELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
We was going to change hotels but it would cost 50+ out of our pocket... Staff was not friendly at all.
If the hotel is not going to have all amenities that is on the website..then they should modify it..not false advertise. We were looking forward to swimming in the pool and washing our I'm..!!!
