The Good: Wonderful service by all staff members. Whatever was needed, however it was needed, seemed to be accommodated. This seems to be a resounding pattern with this particular establishment. Can not say enough about how helpful, friendly, and hardworking the staff is. The room was clean, and most of the amenities served their purpose (again kudos to the staff, as the room doesn't clean itself).
The bad: The AC had to be put on an absurd level to minimize humidity AND heat in the room. Fortunately, I like a cold room, but in order to maintain some level of comfort, full-blast air conditioning had to be used. Anything short of maximum and the room was slightly uncomfortable. It may be time to upgrade those units, but considering the remoteness of the location, who knows if or when that would be in the budget. Breakfast had a reasonable offering - all things considered.
The Ugly: The bathroom. The design of the bathroom is straight from the 50s, as it is unreasonably small and cramped. Everything worked, but again that 50s theme seemed to be the trend in there. The tub was clean, but in miserable shape (rust, slight clogging, minutely exposed pipes). This was the only disappointment with the stay here, but as mentioned above, the staff makes it work. I also didn't spend obscene amounts of time on the toilet, so it was what it was.
Overall, this hotel served the purpose it was intended for. A place to lay our heads. The hotel staff goes above and beyond and gives 4 star treatment in what would otherwise be a 1 or 2 stay environment (depending on whom you ask). Would I stay here again, yeah. On purpose...why not 😁
