This lodge is brilliant - in a really fantastic location next to the river which makes for some great tour options and wildlife. There is a trail on site which is nice to walk around (Trogons and Toucans can be seen on it), canoe's can be taken out any time and with the fascinating Lamanai site literally a minutes board ride away. Christian is a fantastic guide and I would highly recommend the sunset birding tour. Our lodge room was also nice - very quiet allowing for a good nights sleep. We would definitely come back here if we visit Belize again.

This was a great Trip. We went with a group of 6 friends. Because it was slow season they gave each of us our own room. The rooms were nice with AC and electric. Very nice for being tucked so deep in the Jungle. To get there you are in the car about 45 minutes then a 45 minute boat ride through the river amongst the Jungle. Really cool experience in and of itself. You arrive to the Lagoon/Lake to a really cool little resort. The staff is amazing! Our tour guide was awesome. The food is incredible. Home cooked feel and amazing. At night you can hear the howler monkeys. We did the Ruins tour. This is the best way to do the tour. We saw most of the major ruins before the crowds of people showed up. I would definitely go back. Very relaxing place.

I traveled to Belize with my husband and another couple. We stayed for 3 nights at the Lodge and it was perfect from start to finish. We had originally booked 1 room, no A/C. When we arrived, we were surprised with an upgrade to 2 rooms with A/C, mostly due to the fact that we were visiting during the low season and the lodge was not busy.
Our guide, Christian, was very knowledgeable and personable. He was a walking encyclopedia of all information. Having a dedicated guide for the entirety of our stay was awesome.
The rest of the staff at the Lodge were wonderful as well. They are very attentive and quick to help with anything and everything you might need.
I would recommend the lodge to anyone that is interested in visiting the mainland in Belize.

We booked this months in advance and booked 2 couples to a room and chose no a/c as it was more. To our surprise after our very warm greeting we were upgraded to 2 rooms with a/c which made the jungle heat and humidity much more tolerable. On top of the amazing food and amazing staff the adventures did not disappoint!

stayed for 4 nights , as part of a reef and rainforest tour , this was our first lodge , and i wish we had stayed longer. the absolute highlights are the excursions provided by the hotel , you get 2 free trips a day , with your personal guide , and as many others as you can fit in, we did about 12. if you stay here , and i recommend that you do , go on the Maya ruin trip , jungle dawn , nature walk , spot light safari , and every other one you can fit in , pay extra to do the sunset airboat , crocodile encounter , and birding expedition .
The lodge just excelled , the food , limited choice , was delicious and lots of it , not restaurant chef , but rather just a very good tasty home cooked fresh ingredients, we loved it all . the rooms , were excellent , lots of hooks to hang things on , comfortably , spacious . The staff , brilliant , all of them , all seemed to be local , guides that grew up in the Maya ruins , before they were opened up to the public
favourite wildlife seen , many birds , including Jabiriu Storks , laughing Falcons, humming bird chicks in nest [ so small ]Tayra , and silver fox , by room , howlers , too many to list
any negatives? none at all , positives , too many to mention
