We have stayed in many , many motels & hotels round the world but the Palazzo was the best,
Excellent welcome, shown unit, which was immaculately clean & well kitted out.
Bathroom accessories were high class.
When we wanted to stay another night, nothing was too much trouble,
Robyn moved us to the Presidential suite as our one had been booked.
Wow that was palatial.So comfortable.

Stayed two nights in the fabulous motel - book ending my Wilsons Abel Tasman walk. I was greeted so warmly - like an old friend - and ushered to my deliciously comfortable room. The proprietors could not have been more helpful.
My room on both nights was extremely clean and very comfortable with high quality bedding and towels. Big screen TV for sports lovers, and seamless internet connectivity.
Palazzo is superbly located - only a 5 minute walk into town.
I will most definitely be staying here again!

Walking distance from Nelson CBD you'll find this motel with the slightly overstated 'Palazzo' name.
Overall a good experience.
Tripadvisor rating system drops from 'Very Good' to 'Average' > we would rank Palazzo between these two ratings at 'Good', but Tripadvisor doesn't let you do that.
So lets list some remarks in +'s and -'s (meant as possible improvements)
+ Reception is extremely friendly
+ Really close to Nelson CBD
+ Clean room
+/- Drive-in motel from very busy Rutherford Street. Some pics suggest a more quiet setting than it actually is.
+/- "Over" marketed bathtub/whirlpool in top priced rooms > hard to fill with the available water flow the motel has.....would take hours
+/- Queen beds.....why not King in the expensive rooms?
+/- Towel size should be increased
- As a coffee drinker I have to note that the capsules provided for the coffee machine were flavourless
- At around $230 we found Palazzo over-priced in the current market

Hello Pinocity. Thanks for the review.. i guess.. Very odd way of doing one. You have some valid points, that we can't change, and other we can. Our location is in the CBD, which we promote for great walking into the city . Our Spa's are large corner ones, that do take a lot of water to fill, and time. All of our beds are King and super king except for 1, which is in an access enabled room. Our towel size is standard, and sized to be able to dry quickly. As for the coffee capsules , Yes we will be changing them, but we do supply local plunger coffee and instant. So we actually have 3 types in all of our rooms. In reading all of your other reviews, you don't seem happy with much in life, which is a sad thing.. kind regards Max Reelick

We booked a room at Palazzo for a night based on the reviews but had to stay an extra night. We had an upstairs spa studio which was well equipped and furnished. Plenty of room to stretch and the place was very clean.
We ended coming back here again about 10 days later and had a ground floor spa studio which seemed even bigger that the first. Again, very clean, good quality furnishings.
Both rooms were air conditioned and also had a Nespresso machine (with capsules) which was a really neat touch. There is also filtered water on tap in all the rooms which is a fantastic idea.
The motel is very easy to find and within a short (5-10mins) walk to the shops, cafes and restaurants.
Would recommend the Palazzo and will have no hesitation in coming back here the next time we are in Nelson

We stayed in a spotless room with a massive TV and really nice hosts, all just a few minutes' walk from Nelson Cathedral. Having Netflix is a nice bonus and the toiletries in the bathroom smelled amazing.
