This is an excellent place to stay. The property is very well kept. The room we had was adequately spacious for one night, and had a very nice en suite shower and toilet. The location is a few minutes drive out of Greymouth in the countryside; very quiet and very pleasant. The owner is very friendly and made great recommendations for things to do, including driving the the "pancake rocks" along the stunning coast line. He also prepared a superb breakfast. A wonderful experience. The Lodge is shown as a homestay, which is accurate. This is not a regular hotel, but well worth staying there.
Lovely place with good facilities and plenty of useful advice from host, Robin. Tennis and pool table available. Very good multi-level garden design with winding pathways, shrubs, trees and lawn. Bed and bathroom well done. Good first floor guest lounge with extra facilities. Excellent breakfast, continental and cooked with plenty of choice. Easy access to locality and beyond.
Low on bedroom storage and shower struggled at peak times.
Very welcoming with great advice on where to eat out and what to see the following day.
Lovely room with a very comfy bed with good pillows. The en-suite bathroom had a good shower.
The breakfast was served at a time to suite us and included award winning sausages and bacon with free range local eggs, delicious!
Oh, and there was a pool table to use when we wanted, a sauna and a residents lounge with cost armchairs, plenty of books and coffee and tea with biscuits to help yourself to.
Thanks; wished we’d planned to stay longer 😊
very well located in the countryside but only 10 minutes from the city. Very clean and very spacious room in a charming house very well decorated. Sauna on demand. Very valuable advice from David and to top off the excellent breakfast on demand
Had a wonderful stay recently at Oak Lodge. Lovely big room overlooking the garden and farm area, with super comfy bed and en suite bathroom and plenty of space to watch tv in room if privacy was desired. Enjoyed the fire burner and company (host and guests) downstairs over a glass of red wine and a fantastic hearty kiwi breakfast with produce sourced locally in the morning was awaiting. Great spot to base yourself to explore the surrounds i.e. Punakiki pancake rocks. If you're heading into Greymouth for dinner on a Saturday night, do make a reservation.
