We were travelling as a family of 4 including a child of 2 in a 2 bedroom single level chalet block for a 2 night stay. The accommodation was clean but dated of 1980 holiday camp style. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, parking outside the chalet entrance. Cold wash coin operated mini laundry and a small dip pool in the centre of the chalet quadrangle. TV (NZ channels) and included wi-fi. It is located approx 3 km from the centre of Greymouth. There was a rear access through a small field and track to the beach. The sea was not visible from the motel. There was a small play park on the site at the rear not really suitable for small children. No other facilities in the immediate area. There were very few people on site, main use seemed to be for service workers.
The rooms were rather drab and well used. The toilet shower area opened straight into the kitchenette area, An uncovered electrical fuse board was above the door. The dated sofas covering came apart at the Velcro seams. An odd assortment of kitchenette utensils and tiny cups.
good size rooms that had everything we required and staff were really accommodating, friendly ,awesome stay that wasn't long enough so will definitely return soon. The spa was a great way to end the day, pool was beautiful for a dip.
We were travelling to the West Coast mid summer, so really wanted a motel with a pool. We had read reviews of Charles Court and it sounded like what we needed. It was brilliant to be able to return to the motel and dive into the pool to cool off before heading out again to continue with each day. It was a welcome respite.
The motel itself is really clean and tidy and the staff are really friendly. We hired their bikes one day but it was stinking hot, so we lasted an hour before heading back to the pool.
You are right by the beach and we could hear the surf at night from our room which added to the ambience.
We stayed at their 2 bedrooms apartment for two nights. There is a swimming pool it is quite cold out there so we did not really have a chance to use this facility. The apartment we had is fine, just their sofa looks old and dirty, but their beds are very comfortable, rooms are all clean. They do have a lovely playground for kids, and just few mins walk to beach.
Stayed one night with my daughter and elderly mother.
Motel is close to the sea and has a walkway to the beach. Stayed in a one bedroom unit - single beds in the bedroom and a queen bed in the living area. Shower over a spa bath proved a problem for Mum but that was our fault for not requesting an accessible bathroom.
The lovely clean swimming pool was a wonderful way to relax at the end of a long drive (Arthur's Pass was closed due to slips so had to Travel via Lewis Pass - an extra 1.5 hours).
Very happy with our stay👍
