The motel took a $300 bond for the room when my daughter and her friends checked in. Money was cleared from my account. When I rang to question why a bond was taken, I was advised that the information was provided to me on my booking confirmation. Checked the booking confirmation and there is no mention of a $300 bond or any bond for that matter. Have to wait a few days for bond refund. It would have been nice to know before checking in that $585 for a one night stay would be taken from my account
Room was spacious and clean. staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was a highlight, food very good and the wait staff excellent. Whilst the motel is on the highway, we could not hear any road noise which was great.
We will be back!
We read the reviews and the menu and were looking forward to having a Christmas Dinner catered for. But the experience was so bad I think the Health Department should be informed. I might just start of by saying the meal size resembled a childrens menu. The courses were not hot but barely warm and sometimes at room temprature. I hardly ate anything and went home to eat something substantial. We did complain at the counter only to be meekly told that they would pass on our criticisms to their Chef. I did speak to other diners there that were feeling ill but they declined in complaining. I believe whoever is in charge there should contact everyone, and apologise for such a poor effort and instigate some sort of refund. But I don't think that will happen. I will never return to eat here again.
I stayed here for a week on business and unfortunately did not have control over the room booking. It did however allow me to compare the room my employer initially booked with the room I upgraded to after making a fuss.
I was initially put in room 2. This was a chalet type room located outside the main building where years of neglect were evident. Painted block walls, poor furniture, dark bathroom and a view directly into the neighbouring hospital with no privacy blinds or net. Just not a room I would take if it were free.
Fortunately my employer upgraded me to room 21 the following day and a standard much more in keeping with what you would expect in a modern hotel of a decent standard.
Breakfast is pretty average with minimal choice. The continental is just a few cereals, toast, a few pastries and tea or coffee.
Limited reception availability on a weekend so checking in was by picking keys up from a safe outside the main entrance. Again it just felt like corners were being cut. In addition, once I had checked out, they realised a $4 item from the mini bar, from days previously had not been included in my final bill, and insisted on ringing me whilst driving home to try and get my credit card details to pay for it. Again just not a professional way to conduct business.
The Century Inn didn't look great as I made the turn into Airfield road which didn't give me a great feeling for a comfortable night. Reception was a delight and helpful and I was directed to park at the back of the main building. Parking next to the main entry door, which are automatic, I found the room which was an alcove entry for two rooms. On opening the door I was most surprised to find a large well laid out room and a large spa bath room. Everything worked and I had a most pleasant nights sleep on a very comfortable bed. There is a restuarant on site and the food was great with great service. 8.5/10
