The Platinum villas are an amazing find in Queenstown. They are a high quality group of villas on the lower area of Fernhill. The build quality and fittings in the villas are to a very high standard and have everything you need on holiday. We had a 3 bedroom villa overlooking the lake and the views were fabulous. The villas were extremely clean and we got a mid stay clean as we stayed a week. Perfect for our needs.
Downstairs was a very comfortable lounge/dining/kitchen combined, which was a good size. It had a fire that was lit with the touch of a button if it gets a bit cooler. The large windows opened out onto the well mown lawn at the front and had a table and 4 chairs (which was the only thing that could have been more comfortable). You could also see a tennis court just below which I believe can be used for free. Upstairs was 3 very comfortable bedrooms (2 queens and a twin). The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The main Queen had an on suite and a balcony overlooking lake Wakatipu. There were also robes in each bedroom to relax in.
The villas are about a 20mins walk to Queenstown. We walked in many times, as parking can be difficult in Queenstown. On the way back, the last 5 mins is a steep uphill (either via the road of by the gravel path that cuts past the tennis courts). We sometimes found that to be a bit much after a long day but Queenstown taxis were very affordable (about $12-14 from Queenstown centre). There is also a bus that goes right past villas. We never used it because it was $4 per person to pay cash (we had 4 people so a taxi was cheaper) or $2 I think if you got a B card and put money on it before the trip. You can do this in town.
The people on reception were very friendly and gave lots of good information on our arrival. They also helped us ensure our Countdown order got to the right place.
We all really loved everything about these villas and would highly recommend them and we would definitely stay again.

This is my first time to Queenstown and my fiancé booked this accomodation. It is first rate. Lovely spacious apartment with stunning views of the lakes and remarkables. The fit out is also top notch. There is a coffee machine, full size fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Sony home theatre and stunning gas fire. The receptionist was very accommodating with our baggage drop and upon check in our bags were in the room waiting for us. This is the view from the couch.

Firstly the accommodation was great- clean, tidy and very well quipped for a group of 5 people. The location was convenient and the staff at the reception was lovely and helpful. It all turns sour when we ask for heaters in the rooms. The villa has a electric-operated fireplace in the lounge and a panel heater along the corridor outside the 3 bedrooms. After the heaters were switched on for couple of hours, some of us were still feeling bit tad on the cold side. When we called the staff at 6.30pm for a heater, we were greeted with an unfriendly staff who reasoned that we should not require additional heater as the villa was warm and well built for temperature below 0 C. After much "discussion" over the phone, the staff finally agreed to get us the heater. When she arrived in the place in a fit of anger, she kept stating that the place was warm (this was repeated at least 5 times) and demanded that we checked the temperature in the villa with phone application. I find this attitude very unnecessary and rude especially for someone who works in a hospitality industry. I would hope that the staff would respect that everyone's temperature tolerance (hot or cold) is different and asking for heaters is not too much of a request.

We are a family of 4 from Christchurch and we were looking for a nice place to stay in Queenstown with our 2 adult children. This place was absolutely wonderful! The accommodation was perfect for us, everyone had their own room, and the views were to "die for". The staff were wonderful and very helpful....We highly recommend The Platinum Villas! We very much enjoyed our stay and if and when we get back to Queenstown, this is where we are going to stay, no questions asked!!!! Thank you all for such a wonderful stay, we so needed a change of scenery and also a dose of Luxury:) So loved the view...could get very used to it!!!

Tons of room for us all, amazing views from our room, warm on arrival and convenient location from the city. The staff were really helpful. The beds were really comfortable and the whole apartment was really well kitted out with plenty of kitchen equipment. Our only disappointment was running out of wifi - lots of photos of the stunning scenery being uploaded blew our allotted daily allowance. So probably unlimited wifi would be super for a large family. Other than that, we loved everything about this place.

You will definitely be able to fit 1 travel cot in. A second one will make it a bit difficult to move around in the room, but I doubt that you will find a third bedroom in another place that is much bigger than the twin room here. Another option might be to put the kids in the main bedroom and move the 2 single beds together. The main bedroom is very spacious. Unfortunately you just won't have the nice view then. I hope it helps. Ask them for a villa with a lake view if you can.
