This hotel, with stunning views, is in a perfect location close to town and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The restaurant was excellent and the spa experience was good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The in room spa bathtub is extra long and a great soak after a day of sight seeing. The pool area looked lovely but it was a bit chilly for use.

A bargain at the off season rate.

You will see some mixed reviews for this property.

We had 2 x 1 bedroom rooms interconnecting with a rollaway in one for our family of 5. We had a room on the 3rd floor which offered spectacular views of the bay and wonderful sun.

The property has excellent pool facilities which we used and were well used by other guests. There are 5 hot pools adjacent to the larger, cooler pool.

The property is 4 star in my view not 5. It definitely is showing signs of age, peeling wallpaper and the exterior needs a good wash and paint.

However the location, right across the road from the beach and playground, easy walk to town and the views make it pretty hard to beat.

I wish they had onsite parking and the entrance at the reception end is just plain weird. This definitely needs attention, first impressions and all that.

We had a pleasant meal in the Glasshouse restaurant last night.

The staff were very accommodating with extra towels and a late checkout.

Would I stay here again? More than likely yes we would.

Good location across from the beach and a short walk into town. Nice pool area where you can hear the sound of the waves breaking on shore from the hot tub. Room was generous size, some nice amenities like radiant heat in bathroom floor and modern spa tub. Some aspects of the room were a little worn. Appreciated the fridge and stove for small meals. Restaurant was quite good and staff were very friendly. They helped us with food allergies even though it meant going off menu and had great advice on local activities and attractions. Overall had a really nice stay.

Dear Phil M,

Thank you for your review.

It's so nice to see we had everything you needed.
One of the main reasons people choose to stay with us apart from the onsite facilities and location is the service, which everyone in the resort is passionate about and going the extra mile whether it is booking tours or putting something special together for that special occasion.

Again thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay.

We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Warm regards

We stayed for 4 nights during the Christmas new years break. To start of with the service was very welcoming & amazing. A special shout out to Jamie who was not only friendly and professional. He went out of his way to book restaurants and nights out on new years eve at a moments notice. He really went above and beyond. He was not alone as the other staff members also displayed a high level of warmth and helpfulness.

This hotel is a small boutique hotel and very clean. A few minutes walk from the center of Paihia which is great meaning during peak seasons you are away from the small crowds and mini traffic jams of central Paihia. Basically its a bit quieter.
All of the rooms face out to towards the ocean (The Hotel is across the road from the ocean) and there is simply two floors. The 1st level has the view whereas the ground floor basically open up onto the pool area.

The pool is nice, coupled with some nice warm spa's if you don't feel like going into the ocean across the road. There is free WiFi which is a must these days, with average speed performance. The rooms are clean and large enough for a couple or a couple with a child or two at the most.

Now the restaurant is also something to behold as well. Excellent food. The restaurant serves gourmet type dishes , perfect for the romantic night out. People from outside the hotel where frequently coming to this restaurant suggesting its known by diners throughout Paihia. The service in the restaurant itself had some room for improvement

The only negative would be the price for me in my travels slightly high.

Recommend this little hotel for anyone wanting to stay in Paihia.

Dear Mazi69,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of your stay with us.

Firstly thank you for staying with us during the Christmas and the New Year season and it is our pleasure providing the best service we can to all our guests whether it is making dinner reservations or booking guests onto tours in the Bay of Islands.

We will pass your comments onto both Jamie and the rest of the team who are very passionate about service and going above and beyond.

One of the reasons people like to book with us is because we are not too close and not too far from the town, which gives our guests peace and quiet.
All of our rooms are facing onto the ocean with the poolside studios having access straight onto the pool deck, which is even more convenient especially on a hot summers day.

Wifi is a must these days especially during the festive season and keeping in touch with friends and family so this is something we definitely do not mind providing for our guests.

We are pleased you found the food excellent and and we will pass your comments onto our food and beverage team.

Again thank you for staying with us during the festive season and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Warm regards

Wife and I stayed for 3 nights on level 3 in an ocean view room. The view was great the room was good but not great. The fridge was so noisy I turned it off each night the bathroom was good but not large and the toilet cistern button needs repair. We ate breakfast each morning at the restaurant and the food was first class the waitresses were very good and friendly and informative on the local area but the guy we met at checkin was below average but the lady on checkout was lovely. It is easy walk into Main Street and shops. Would stay again but at the price I did expect a little better room. And I must say the pool guy was friendly and helpful.
