A Galaxy of Stars rating for this delightful b & b and its even more wonderful warm and gracious hosts Barry & Ros. Between pick up & drop offs, tips for things to see & do, Barry was a magician in the kitchen. Scrumptious breakfast perfect for a vegetarian 😍 & lasted all day! Was also invited for a delicious dinner one night. That potato salad. Such manaakitanga! The house is charming full of heritage, large comfortable bedrooms, had a soak in the bath, beautiful grounds & a short walk to the marina, the town centre, & unbelievable beach. I highly recommend this home away from home!

Barry and Ros are friendly welcoming hosts. The room was beautifully clean and had all the amenities I needed for my 3 night stay. The breakfasts Barry cooked were amazing and so delicious. The rate was so minimal and the accommodation and food was so fabulous. I will definitely return to stay again.

Couldn't have chosen a better place to stay - from welcome by Barry to comfort of room in beautiful house, huge breakfast to die for (didn't have to as it is included in tarriff), friendly chat with Barry and Roz (wonderful hosts) AND walking distance to town. Would definitely stay again if I can book early enough.

I was in a business trip and stayed at this BnB because my other accommodation had to cancel the booking. Everything was great about my stay. Very friendly and helpful hosts, a spacious and beautiful room, the location is quiet and close to the city.
it is a great value for money as well. If i'm in Gisborne again i'm definitely coming back to this lodge!

I visited Gisborne at a time there was a lot of pressure on accommodation, and I'm so glad to have found this place and not a hotel or motel! Barry and Ros were like an aunty and uncle, making sure I was looked after in every way. A gorgeous cooked breakfast was slightly different each day. A lovely room in a lovely house - character plus!
