The hotel is located in a residential area. That is probably why the windows are high up in the walls. You can't look out. Also, if you're not a giant, you need to get up on a chair to close/open the curtains. Not very clean as well: my friend dropped his cover on the floor and a big amount of dust flew out from under my bed...
Then the bathroom: it looks nice, but the shower area is designed for a pygmee. I'm quite slim but there was no way that I could move in the shower without bumping into the tap and pushing it close all the time as the tap stood out from the wall about 20 cms. There was a designer radiator to hang your big towels on, but even if you did, you still got fresh ones every morning. Does this hotel not care about the environment??
There is a map in the room with hardly any information. The information that IS there, is not correct (f.i. the time dinner is served? it says 19.00 hrs but the restaurant does not open until 19.30 hrs). There is a minibar, but no list with prices. Guests do like to know what they spend on a minibag of peanuts, though. Or where the nearest metro station is, where to reach the police/fire dept. or a doctor... etc. etc.
You adjust the temperature in the room with your keycard... that is, if your keycard WORKS. We could get into the room with it, but it was also supposed to work on the temperature AND the gate to the parking garage. Well, we woke up during the night cause the temperature was 22 degrees (while I adjusted the thermostat to 15), even with 2 windows open.
And on our last evening when we went out to a dinner at a friend's house nearby, the receptioniste did NOT tell us the reception would close at 23.00 hrs (normally on Sunday it would be midnight). So when we got back, there was no one to let us in and our keycard did not work to open the gate to the garage. There was no emergency button on the gate or any of the doors. No number you could call. Finally my friend climbed over the gate to the parkinggarage and tried to open the gate from the inside. Did not work, so we ended up leaving the car in the street and he let me in through some emergencydoors. When I complained about this the next morning, the receptioniste gave us 10 euro discount. Which I think is a joke, considering the stress we had by not being able to enter the hotel.
Breakfast is a joke and definitely NOT worth 7 euro p.p. So if you stay here, make sure it's included in your roomrate!! Hardly any choice in bread; on Sunday no fresh bread but stale buns from the day before. No warm items and the last morning the waitress did not even bother to ask us if we wanted any coffee or tea.
