My wife and I recently stayed here on our honeymoon. The pool is great, the location and rooms are beautiful. Breakfast was ok but there are some serious issues holding this place back. Firstly, the rooms are prone to ant and other bug infestations. If you leave food out in the open for more than ten minutes in your room, expect to see it covered in ants. There are no traps or measures in place to prevent the insects getting into your room (ant traps would be an idea), it just seems to be something you need to put up with. But the biggest problem by far were the staff. The young man and young woman on reception were lovely and very helpful, but an older woman on reception was extremely curt and not friendly at all. The worst was the woman who runs the restaurant however. My first encounter with her was when no one was on reception and I was looking for directions. She told me twice to go to reception, while there was no one there, even though she could quite clearly see no one was there. In the end she rang someone and I was able to get my directions. The second incident with the restaurant manager was much worse, we decided to get a meal in the restaurant, my wife approached the woman and asked if we could see a menu. The woman looked my wife up and down like she was a piece of dirt. At that point we made our exit, she called after us but it was too little too late. We went to another restaurant and had a great time. Overall I would not recommend this hotel as there are nicer, more convenient places in the area with much friendlier staff.

We paid a good price for this hotel, actual rooms were ok, and the location was lovely (it is remote, so transport is a must).

I agree with others; this place has huge potential but seriously lacks any Management and staff training. Reception are a waste of time, unhelpful and some very unfriendly! Breakfast is not that good, stacks of food pre-cooked for a handful of guests and the choice very slim! Coffee was ok some days and terrible most! Room Air-con not working, rubbish fridge with no freezer, no Free Mini-Bar as promised and hit with a cash deposit the request before you are handed the room key even though you have paid in advance and they have your card details??

We had woodlice / maggots on our balcony bench, free bottled water was horrible, insect droppings on sofa and dead fly under bathroom glass remained for a week, a tiny bottle of shower gel everyday and the lids tightened that you couldn’t remove them! We didn’t complain as we asked ourselves, where are they going to move us too? Better the devil you know hey?

The restaurant was dark, under advertised and so uninviting! All the brochure photos are the most heavily Photoshop I have ever seen, and the biggest disappointment was the swimming pool, this is filthy, dirty and potentially unhealthy, shocking!

Just no service at all and no help or interaction by any staff apart from one or two at breakfast when they could be bothered, the staff are like zombies plodding around doing as least as possible!

On the plus side, for the price, clean sheets and towels everyday and something edible at breakfast. If you are okay with budget and are not expecting too much, go for it, if like us you have been to some great hotels over the years, avoid this place like the plague, sorry, it’s a crying shame that such a place could be run and decline in this manner.

Not the worst but far from the best!

Ps: This is my most damming review over tens of years, but, if there is anything here that anyone can disprove, I apologise!

A beautiful hotel. We stayed in 3 rooms for 3nights and the stay was good. Good service but lack of room services. Room service and the house keeping is not functional at night around 11 pm onwards. The receptionists try to give a good service but most of the time they can’t understand English. The hotel is bit far from the city, so you will have to pay the taxi a hefty amount of money. Good for the people who come for their honeymoon but if u looking for some extra activities this hotel is far from those activities. I booked through Trip advisor and Agoda and it’s worth the money spent. Thank You.

This isn't the best hotel we've stayed at but for what we've paid it's definitely provided a lot of value.

Staff is friendly, room is clean, what more can you ask for this type of budget.

If you have a scooter or a car, getting around will not be an issue.

We chose the hotel because we wanted to be away from the crazy Phuket crowd. Where we sure were ! So much that it was difficult to go anywhere without spending a fortune. Taxi called to the hotel are all fixed prices (and looks like it is the same all over the place anyway).
There is a taxi station ~400m up the road which can give you a bit of leeway for negotiating a bit on prices etc, you get a taxi driver and stick with him for future rides if you can, that would help. But it is still a pain.
There is zero access to beach and when we got there (we went to chill at one of the only hotel by the water one day) you can't actually swim in (cutting little things in the water), the staff told us after we asked questions.
Walking places is possible (minimum of 2km to get anywhere) but the sides of the road are narrow and it is a no go when it's dark, no questions.
The hotel in itself is quite nice, rooms are lovely, big, sunny and modern. Pool was a hit with the kids. Starting to show a bit of wear & tear but I can go with that. Loved the fake grass by the pool, so much better than hard ground. The plants are lovely and very well maintained. TV with fox channels was handy for rainy days. Really quiet at night and during the day which is super relaxing.
The cleaning crew does a good job and we never had problems there.
Where the hotel is a major let down was in the services, unfortunately (apart form the location issue). It looks great, it is grand but the service delivery was just not there :
- Very poor English from staff. As in really lacking.
- The "travel agent service" is "pick a brochure and we book it for you" (no advice, negotiation, search). Couldn't recommend anything more than what's with the flyers.
- the restaurant is a world in itself. The food is nice enough (if over priced). It took 5 nights to have a meal with no issue. The staff is not trained properly and they really don't seem to care / enjoy being there. We were feeling guilty for all the issues but then we realised the issues were theirs. Waiting 2h for a meal is not ok, getting chilli when you way no chilli is not ok, having 3 glass for water when there are 5 people at the table is not ok.
- DVD players in the rooms, when we ask if they have dvd they don't. The lady didn't even know there were dvd players in the room and had to check.
- The library has 2 pc (which was good to search for things ourselves) and books. All the books are Mangas in Thai. It sure looks good in pictures but not very handy for tourists...
- we kept seeing people being led to their rooms carrying their own luggage. No trolleys or hands on help there. We got lucky there, we arrived at 22.30 with 2 sleepy kids and bags, we were welcomed by one of the only helpful staff member who went to fetch someone to help us out. He proved himself furthermore in the following days too.
It just adds up to annoyance.
