Booked this resort only on recommendation from TripAdvisor reviewers, but I am seriously disappointed, then again, opinion vary on individuals, my priorities may not be the priority for another. I personally haven't stayed at such a location before, amidst the forest, and with a view to Meenmutty water falls a km aerial distance away which was beautiful in its own way.
Had tried calling them on the landline number provided by the MMT to cross check if my booking is made, but no answer, later after googling, managed to get another number which got answered, and my main query was if the resort is accessible by car, and he promptly replied , yes, till the reception you can come by car, ut he never mentioned the state of the road, which leads to the resort. First sight of the road ahead will make you rethink if you still want to go to this place, a bit more if you are self driving and loves your car. Road starts with a steep inclination at some 40 degrees, which is concreted but damaged, which gives a slightest picture of the road. After 200 m, the concrete road will narrow down to a concrete rail, which can accommodate your vehicle tires alone, you move a bit on either side, you will be in deep trouble, damaging your axle to anything more. So you have to be an expert driving through this road. And to my surprise, there were several others who come by car to the resort. Once you make it to the resort, you will be taking deeeep breaths that you survived the extreme driving test.
Coming to the rooms, though the rooms are large, it shouts its age. Maintenance is long over due. Bed linens were full of stains and dirt, so the impression is not so good on the housekeeping part. Everything in the room shouts its age, from the cupboards to the coffee cup. If you are a person who forgets every other thing when you are aidst beautiful nature, then this place is for you, but if you want to be pampered with the luxury, stay away. The hotel ground is well laid ( long back) but lacks proper maintenance, but on a humane note, maintaining the shape of a property surrounded by these many trees and vegetation is nearly impossible. There isn't much of a play area for kids other than the pool. Coming to the food, restaurant is a limited menu place, but serves OK food. The boy who served us was very friendly and he always had a smile in his face, making the otherwise dull dining experience a bit more joyous.
