If you are looking a a hotel for a short stay, you pretty much can't go wrong with an Ibis, and this is also the case here.
Easy to find, with a pool ( a rarity in an Ibis ), and a fairly good restaurant on site ( the burger is pretty decent, which isn't a given in Europe). Breakfast was good, but a bit pricey in my opinion.
Check in and out was quick and painless.
This hotel is just off the motorway and a perfect halfway stop for the trip from Calais to the South of France or Spain.
The hotel is in an old French style building although it’s an Ibis and that gave it a nice charming feel.
The other plus points are a nice pool, outdoor seating area including comfy sofas, you can eat breakfast on the terrace. There were Interconnecting rooms for us and our teens. A bath and a shower in our room and a shower in theirs.
The only negative is that the bedrooms are grey and a bit dark and basic. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room but comfy beds and generally clean.
Would have given it 5 stars for a kettle and better bedroom decor.
I spent one night there in April. The hotel is very well located for a stop on the way to southern France or for a leisure or business trip to Lyon. The rooms are very quiet and the beds particularly comfortable. There is a terrace with a ping pong table. The pool was not ready yet but I guess that later in May or June it should be up and running. I especially enjoyed the breakfast as it offers everything you might want for a perfect start, be it salty or sweet food. For dinner you can eat at the hotel (decent and reasonably-priced food) or at a restaurant that is located at a distance of a 5-minute walk.
I have been sent in Lyon for my work, so I could spend one night in this Ibis Hotel. This hotel has a restaurant in the evening every day.
This hotel has strong points:
affordable price (around 70 euros)
Ibis label, so you know that the hotel will comply with basic quality standards
the restaurant was tasty - count around 22 euros for a 3 courses-meal
the hotel was quiet, so it helped so much to have a good night sleep
the breakfast was good
the staff was very friendly and helpful (I asked for some more blankets and they helped me right-away)
Wifi was OK
What can be improved:
10 euros for a breakfast is a bit expensive
the product in the bathroom is not great- very dry but they are here in case of need.
the system of clothes hanger is not practical at all, it was difficult to have a good place to smooth my suit for the next day
the bedroom was cold as we entered
Please note that the rooms can be on the ground floor. There is a swimming pool outside and a free parking. We did not use them because we came with a cab and we did not have the time to take a small swim in the swimming pool.
To conclude, I would say that the 70 euros worth it. You are not in 4 stars hotel but you can spend a good night in a quiet location and have a nice dinner with the colleagues. I wish a lot of success to this hotel and its helpful staff.
The hotel is set in an easy location accessible closely from motorway or main roads. It has a nice swimming pool and outside drinking area nice for hot evenings. The bar and restaurant are very nice with reasonable meals and continental breakfast in the morning. The staff are very efficient and friendly. Beds are really comfortable and give a good nights sleep. I would recommend for overnight or short break.
