We have both travelled plenty of places in Africa, Asia and Europe and we think the Hornbill takes the cake when it comes to our favourite hostel we've been to.

It's lucky for the Hornbill that's it's found on such a beautiful,l peaceful island with awesome beaches and things to do.

But the staff, led by the super friendly and helpful Chris when we were there, are fantastic. The breakfasts are top notch, and the atmosphere of the open lounge room/kitchen/reception/chill out area is the best. There are so many games, books and things to keep you occupied if you feel like just kicking it for a bit.

We stayed in the new double ensuite room. It's pretty low key, pretty much what you'd expect from a room in a little island community. The bed is pretty comfy, with a fan and a lil bathroom.

We can't recommend this place highly enough, 5 stars!

Home away from home and then some! We found this guesthouse by chance and then realised that it had a Bristol connection and felt instantly at home. Chris moved heaven and earth to accommodate us and we felt very looked after. Staff, service, food, cleanliness and comfort guaranteed. The layout of the guesthouse is superb with a nice little chill/cinema area. The coffees are hands down the best you will get in the country. The dorm room is super clean and well ventilated. We fell in love with the guesthouse dog who ended up accompanying us on long walks to the beach. We hope to return back one day. Thanks again for one of the best times that we had xx

Turned up at the Hornbill and received the most amazing Hospitality from the 2 owners Chris and Chaz! We were given a lovely double room and our friends took the dorms! We had had a few wild days on Koh Rong so we were looking for more of a relaxed time on Koh Rong Samloem! We were able to enjoy some beautiful coffee in the morning, get the best local advice on activities and places to eat etc, and then a chilled cinema experience at night (such a nice home comfort when travelling)! Nothing seemed like a problem while we were there and we were made to feel so at home! such a cool experience, thanks again guys and we will hopefully see you again soon!

Me and my girlfriend had a really nice stay at the guesthouse over a few days.
The lobby is very chilled and looking fresh with swings as chairs and comfortable seats.
they have many boardgames in the lobby, as well as a chill room upstairs with a tv and a playstation for rainy days.
The receptionist are very pleasant people who want to make your stay as comfortable as they can, and the rooms are very open and well ventilated you can have a relaxed sleep.
I will definitely go back there at my next stay
