Stayed at Oversum in the summer of '17 with a friend on a driving trip in Germany. After driving (spiritedly) the whole day, Oversum was a great place to relax and chat. We enjoyed the pools, sauna and hot tub (ok, warm tub), then cleaned up for a nice dinner and drinks in Winterberg. Next morning I walked the trails behind Oversum and enjoyed a great breakfast before we set out for more driving.

We booked a deluxe room for a stay of 4 nights. Upon check-in, we got an upgrade to a junior-suite on the 6th floor of this 2012 built egg-shaped hotel (the only one in Europe apparently?). Room had a superb view over the Kurpark and the hotel is very close to the city centre. The first evening we booked for a set menu at the hotel's restaurant. There was a choice between a 2 or 4-dish menu with a choice of 3 main courses. We wanted a 3-dish menu and the staff arranged for that with a smile en charged a correct price for that, even lower than expected. Food is elegant, delicious, fairly inexpensive, but portions could be bigger. Wine is expensive. Restaurant is very nicely decorated, romantic and classy atmosphere. Hotel boast excellent spa and fitness facilities with a 25m indoor pool. Fitness does not provide free water, which one would expect in facilities of this category. Breakfast is excellent, according to German tradition. A 9-hole golf course is within about 2 km. Excellent address for a short break full of sports, relaxation, wellness. Fantastic hiking and biking area!

Already went twice to this hotel and I would go again.
The SPA area offers a very nice swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam bath.
Rooms are specious and very modern.
Good choice of food for breakfast.

You can do nice forest trips in the area, if the weather is good and there are plenty of activities for children and teenagers too.

I highly recommend this hotel for a few days of relaxation.

We have spent a wekeend sking in Winterberg in the begning of February. Hotel was an absolute highlight. Spoiled by loads of snow, wrecked from whole day sking we were delighted to see hotel upon check in.
It's a very modern, but yet not ice cold concrete building. We found deco very cosy. We have booked two rooms, I have exchanged emails with the hotel, since we have 2 rooms booked, I thought it would a great idea to get connection rooms.
Once checked in and arriving to our rooms, we couldn't find a doors which were ment to connect rooms. I have rang reception to find out that its more like 2 bedroom apatment. There were spare doors locking part of the corridor and then two rooms were kind of together with small corridor between. Absolutely brilliant idea!! They havent wasted even an inch of wall surface to built another door. I was very impressed.
Rooms were descent size, round shape of the building make then look smaller then they actually are. Bathrooms were brand door, squeeky clean.
We were staying in the hotel on the night of Super Bowl, so we really enjoyed a big screen.
Swimming facilities are excellent, especially kids swimming pool. The only thing which bothered me a bit and maybe in few years it will be an issue. Is that when leaving your hotel room and heading to spa/swimmipool facilities, you take a lift down and to get to any pool you need to go thru very big room where FKK passionates are relaxing [Freikörperkultur (FKK) -Free Body Culture)].
Not being fan of it at the first place, I sure don't want my child to be surrounded by nacked bodies of any age. Now our little Monkey wasn't bothered, but as I said in few years it might become an issue. I saw later on that there is another entrance to swimming facilities (to the public), but you will have to run thru reception and it's not what you want when booking SPA hotel.
Overall we had a ball, very relaxing, well looked after ladies on the reception. We will definitely come back when sking next time!!!
