Cosy hotel in the German Alps. Few rooms but ambient very relaxed. The lady was very hospitable. Room with traditional mountain decor, bed large and comfortable. Very romantic atmosphere, the hotel is located near to the town, but just out of it, therefore it is surrounded by nature and stars, very romantic.
Small breakfast, but anyway with large selection of cheeses and cold cuts. We stayed end October and booked this hotel regarding the small distance to the Neuschwanstein Castle, but I guess this location would be optimal during the summer, due to its closenes to the Alps and the possibility to perform various activities (nordic walking, mountain walking)

Basic hotel with clean and nice looking rooms. It seems cheaper then it is when travelling with kids as they will add an extra charge per child, making it not much cheaper than other hotels. It is a quiet area, sufficient parking and a playground for kids. Note that some rooms have a bathroom on the hallway and since it is all wood, you will hear people moving through the hallway when you book the bigger room with ensuite bathroom. Breakfast is basic and while some staff is very friendly, others could act a bit more relaxed for their own sake and that of their customers.

When you stay here, a visit to the Neuschwanstein castle is strongly recommended. Book yout tickets online to avoid not getting in or waiting up to 5 hours for the tours. It is worth your time, but if you have limited time, you can also visit the exterior without booking tickets. And take the bus, not the horse carriage, this will save you another our waiting time :-).

We had the suite at the upper level which has 3 bedrooms and a common area, which is rather small and far from cosy. The bedrooms were equipped with all IKEA stuff, but generally good. The bathroom was very spacious, but it was really difficult to set the temperature right.
The staff was not really friendly, and approached us in a very peculiar way, as if we were not really welcome.
We also had dinner, which was good and reasonably priced. Finally the breakfast was good, and had a large variety of different things. All in all, we had a good stay.
We only stayed one night,

This guesthouse is situated 5 min by car from the center of Nesselwang. On the ground floor it is a restaurant an on the first floor there are guest rooms. Our room had a large balcony with sunbeds and table outside. The room is simple, but of good quality, no noise from the restaurant was heard taking into consideration that it was a big event (b-day party) held thet day. The only thing which we didn't like was cleannes in the bathroom - there were footprints on the floor as if nobody washed the floor after previous guests. The breakfast was abundant with many choices. All in all a good and inexpensive place to stay in a German countryside

We spent the first night of our trip in this beautiful guesthouse. we arrived after 8.00 pm and we were very tired because of the long drive from Italy; so we had dinner in the restaurant located at ground floor where we ate a tasty meal with a couple of refreshing beers. Also the room was fine, with a comfortable bed and a nice view towards the wood.
