Good budget ski hotel, friendly staff, close to local amenities including SPAR and also included use of a local pool (although I didn't use this). Our bunk room slept 6, with a shared shower. Toilet was shared between two rooms. There was wifi in the bar, but not in the rooms. Hotel was situated a short walk from the slopes, but there was the option to make a packed lunch so that we didn't have to return in the middle of the day. Buffet breakfast was basic, but enough (bread, cheese, cereals, tea, coffee, fruit juice etc...) and the buffet dinner was good and varied - with plenty of option (although the vegetarian option appeared to literally just be vegetable side order style). Would be perfect for those travelling with friends looking for budget skiing!
Beginners classes, Yuanne our instructor, the very tasty food at every meal, the cheeses at every meal, the friendliness of everyone we met, the sauna, the ski equipment, the view from the room, the snow, the location next to a SPAR that sells 4euro wine.
Double room is still bunks. The dancefloor was a throwback to the early 2000's. That's it though!
Very highly recommend.
Well positioned centre, lovely staff and instructors and absolutely fantastic value for money, sleeping is 4 to a room with bunk beds, tight on space but still ok. All in all a brilliant week in Jan 2015 and going again Jan 2016. A budget orientated ski centre designed for what is important, which is getting on the slopes at a minimum cost. Food couldn't be faulted, ski equipment was up to date and in perfect condition. Use of a nearby swimming pool was included. For anyone who wants the comfort of a 5 star hotel then I would advise them to book into a 5 star hotel, for those who want a fantastic week at minimum expense then book one of many UCPA centres in the Alps.
I went between Christmas and New Year of 2011 with 4 other mates, we booked through Action outdoors which was fine although when we arrived they didn't have us staying in the same room due to Action Outdoors not passing our info to the accommodation - make sure you call UCPA once booking is made and get them to put you together. The majority of staff speak English although ladies on the reception make it difficult for you if you only speak English, good luck if you don't know french or english as you will find it tough.. once in our room the accommodation was good. Shower is in each room and you have a balcony so a good place to let things air out. The toilets are outside the rooms in the hall ways, there aren't many toilets for some reason but your never left waiting for long. The Food.. AMAZING and never left hungry especially lunch - I would go back again just for the Lunch!! If you have dietary requirements tell them in advance but they will accommodate you with great chef's on staff. you will find the local police come eat there each day which does say a lot for the quality of the food.
The gear supplied is really good quality, we were there at the beginning of the season so most of the gear was brand new which was perfect for our powder days, they do hire helmets but you need to speak to the person who gives you your ski pass when you arrive, think it was 510 euros for the week and brand new too :) Our instructor was Marc and was brilliant taking us all over both mountain ranges, he and the other staff have time to really help you improve. Our group was quite small due to all being aware how to board although were constantly wanting to push you to all enjoy your time as much as possible.. This was a fantastic venue to stay and would recommend it for anyone going in a small group who don't want the fuss of a Chalet or costs of a upmarket hotel. - oh they have free wifi just need to get the password from the reception
