We stayed at Camping Acapulco 27th June to 9th July and had booked through Canvas Holidays.
We didn't have any issues with Canvas when booking or with any queries we had prior to arrival.
New Canvas reps arrived a couple of days after we checked in. They were enthusiastic and happy to help.
The caravan was a lot bigger than we expected - we had booked the 3 bedroom but it was a lot bigger than other 3 bedroom vans we had been given in France.
The van was clean enough - not spotless but not dirty. It did have signs of minor wear and tear but it was cosmetic and everything worked.
Our van had a kettle, toaster, oven, grill, 4x gas rings, fridge, 3x drawer freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, and even a CD/Radio/Cassette player..!! This was also a lot more than we expected but i don't think every van has as much as that.
Based on our experience we would be happy to book with Canvas again.
The site is run by Sun Marina and all of their staff (reception, pool, bar, restaurant, shop, security, etc) are all very helpful and friendly (if you try a wee bit of French it helps but most have good English)
The site was fairly quiet when we first arrived but it got significantly busier the further we got into July, especially weekends.
The site has 3 pool areas. There is a bunch of smaller flumes, which have their own plunge pools separate from the actual pools.
The two large flumes are great.
It's hit and miss as to whether you get loungers - there is a lot of them around but obviously depends how busy the pools are.
The site is clean and easy to get around.
There is a kids play area, 3x table tennis tables, a big (sandy) football pitch, a basketball court, volleyball court, and grass area for play.
There are 3x toilet/shower blocks which also contain washing machines and dryers. There is a board that can be used for ironing, and you can get an iron from reception.
The site has a decent sized shop but there is a much bigger (and cheaper) supermarket 5mins walk away.
There is an even bigger supermarket about 10mins drive away at St Gilles.
The onsite entertainment at the pool and bar is all in French - fair enough.
(you might be fed up with Informer by Snow by the time you leave- it seems a bit of a site anthem)
The beach is a straight line walk but it's a good 10-15mins
The beach is massive so space is never an issue there.
Loads of cycle tracks in the area. You can easily cycle to St Gilles or St Jean du Mont.
The site has a bar and restaurant. We had pizzas one night which were lovely - thin, large, and lots of toppings.
The bar isn't the cheapest but no worse than your average UK city bar.
There are another few bar/restaurants which are about a 5min walk away.
There is a shaded crazy golf 5mins walk away. This also has pool tables, table football, and table tennis - if you want to get out of the sun for a bit.
The vans onsite looked reasonably spaced out - i didn't see many that were really close together.
We didn't have any mozzy issues but we lit a lemon candle if we were sitting out at night (apparently this helps)
We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Camping Acapulco and would happily return.
