The Hilton Hampton Montevideo is walking distance from Carrasco Airport, making it ideal for those looking for quality accommodation near the airport.
The architects were the Gualano brothers, very prominent architects of Uruguay, and the architecture achieved is pleasing to the eye, standing out in the urban landscape of Montevideo.
The hotel has a swimming pool that allows an exceptional view of the lake surrounding the hotel. I booked a lake view room, which I also recommend. It is worth paying extra dollars.
The mattress and pillows are of excellent quality, a theme that is fundamental for me. The same with the bathroom shower. The amenities in the bathrooms are Neutrogena, so the quality is assured.
The floors of the corridors that lead to the rooms are covered by a carpet, which reduces the noise level. Being the new hotel, the carpet looks very clean.
The quality of breakfast is correct, but nothing to shout about it. I did not see options for diabetic or celiac people, so if that is the case they suggested consulting before making the reservation.
Check-out At checkout I had an unpleasant surprise. The email with my reservation said "Total price for Stay", and the Hilton screen said "Taxes included". However, the person in charge of check-out tried to charge me VAT. I showed the attendant the confirmation email of my reservation, that it didn't mention anything that the tax was not included, and I also showed her that when he tried to make a new reservation the price that came up on the screen said "Taxes included". But there was no way to convince her, so I asked her to contact the hotel manager. When speaking with the hotel manager, he decided to honor the agreed price. But it was a moment of much discomfort from the discussion, with many people waiting to be served. I suggest that the Hilton improve the transparency of the of the information when making a reservation.
