I stayed with Bina last September. The room was exactly as advertised. Comfy bed/bedding, very minimal but enough for what I needed. Bina was very nice and accommodating. I had major flight issues and did not get to her place until midnight, not a problem. She is about a 30 minute walk into town - there is a store, bakery and a hostel cafe across the street and she is on 2 bus lines. Also one of the largest thermal pools is just 2 blocks away. Iceland is expensive and this was one of the cheapest place I found.
If you have a car, this place would be quite convenient for you. It is located right next to the 24/7 grocery store where we would usually get breakfast coffee, croissants or mini-pizza-ish buns. Near the area is a stadium and you cal also run as there is a promenade not too far away.
This is a wonderful place to stay. Bina is very friendly and does a great breakfast! The room was spacious and very comfortable. It's about a 20 minute stroll along the seafront to get to the city centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back again the next time we come to Reykjavik.
A fun experience and well located for the large swimming pool and sculpture galleries.
It is about 30 mins stroll to the centre, but this can either take in the coastal path (with an excellent sculpture of a viking boat) or via two of the main galleries (1 ticket covers these two, plus third location in the centre).
The price is less than a hotel, but more than a double room at the nearby hostel (where we had to go to do laundry), so it is good value for the large room and clean bathrooms (which are shared, but there are two, so we did not have to wait long)
Breakfast is not included but there are shops (bakery, greencrocers, general store and a few cafe or restaurants, plus a bank) very close by.
A wall clock outside the room did disturb us with it's chiming, but Bina is happy to move it if requested. She is very helpful and friendly !
There are a few stairs that might provide access issues, but we were fine and enjoyed having the elevated view.
Bina is very engaging and informative about the area, which we very much enjoyed staying in.
The rooms are on the third floor so it´s not for people whith trouble climbing stairs. The room was good and so were the beds. Quiet. Free Wi-Fi, a bit slow. No common areas.
The hostess vas a very nice lady and helped with a foodproblem we had. So hopitallity was high.
Parking outside on the street no problem.
