Warm welcome, friendly staff, great food! The rooms were nice. Glass doors on the bathroom is a little awkward for twin rooms though... Art nouveau is an interesting style. Using the room cards at almost every door is a bit disturbing.

The best thing about this hotel is the lobby, a beautiful art nouveau space from the early 20th century. You can hang out in the lobby and have a drink, and the excellent breakfast buffet is downstairs. The actual hotel in adjacent modern buildings doesn't totally live up to the lobby. The hallways feel like an office building, and the rooms are non-descript. That said, they are perfectly comfortable and well appointed. We had a nice stay, and there are lots of good places to eat a short walk away. Just don't expect that your room will be an historic monument like the lobby. The staff is very friendly, but that's pretty standard in Finland.

Dear marcopolo1964 Thank you for your stay at GLO Hotel Art. Our amazing lobby and the facilites in the main building are historical and protected side. This builduing use to be a student union so hotel business started much later. The hotel corridors on the new side are actually old students apartments and the doors are protected as well. For us it is so important that we give the feeling to our guests that we have the history but we have the modern rooms and we have done a lot of work for trying to give the correct picture to our guests. Thank you for taking the time to write feedback. Hopefully see you back with us soon! Kind regards, Aino Heikkilä Head Concierge/Front Office Manager GLO Hotel Art

The reception is in a beautiful Art Nouveau castle from 1903. Hotel rooms are located in two newer wings.

There was a lucrative January Sale -40%. So we paid only 185 euros for our suite.

The room was not ready on arrival at 15:00. We were offered glasses of champagne while waiting for the room cleaning to be ready. Also, we got two drink vouchers for the bar.

The only suite in the hotel is located on the 2nd floor with views of the street and the gym on the other side of the street.

The suite is more like a junior suite. The sitting group, the bathroom and a small separate toilet are on the lower level. The four-poster bed is four steps above. The room is stylishly decorated with Marimekko textiles. There are separate rain shower and bathtub which is always nice.

The breakfast is served in the basement restaurant. The food selection was good.

it was nice hotel and it was very close to the city center..room and hotel it was as described but hotel manager was child..she could have been older than hotel staff...hotel internet was slow...sometimes it did not work ..there was no attraction in hotel either for customers just like parties or Christmas breakfast..There was no animation in the hotel. For example parties or special Christmas breakfast..it was monotone breakfast...I heard the noise upstairs while I was sleeping...pub it was so close to check -in desk ..it is not good location for it..upper floors are more suitable for this in the main building ..

The main building of this hotel is a charming Art deco style. However, not all of it is as charming. Many rooms are to be found in an unprepossessing annex with a tortuous path from reception. Rooms can be very small. I am sure there are more comfortable than mine, but it was Design Week when I visited and room prices were sky high, so the room I thought was reasonably priced was tiny. Fine for one and fine with no luggage, but even for one with a suitcase of moderate proportions, my room was a tight fit. There was minimal hanging space and without a wardrobe my bag filled all the floor space between the bed and the window. However, bathroom was fine and shower very nice. Bed was also comfortable and large.
Staff were faultlessly pleasant and breakfast buffet is very good.

It has been designed as you said for one person, with minimal luggage as well. The most popular room category and what we have the most is Comfort type and it is almost half size bigger and have lot more space.
