We had a familyroom which are on the first floor next to busy parking lot. While we were staying there was a Terveystalo MRI truck parked next to our window (really less than 2 meters from our window!!). It was awfully annoying, horrible noice and smell of fumes. We tried to call to the reception at 9 pm and nobody answered. We called and called and called and finally we got a contact with a staff member. She was awfully busy working alone but managed to arrange us two standard rooms instead of a family room. She really did her best and of course the MRI truck parking next to our window was not their fault. Next moening while checking out we heard the hotel have had some issues also earlier with the truck.
The rooms are dated and quite hot even if it was only +15 celcius outside. But it was really clean and cosy and the sleeping quality was good after changing the room.
The breakfast was just perfect, there is everything you need!

I stayed at Original Sokos Hotel Valjus for one night because of my move from Kajaani. The hotel's location is excellent in the city center. The hotel room was quite old but also clean and quiet. The breakfast had a very peaceful atmosphere and the staff were polite.

We needed a hotel room for 4 nights after Christmas. 2 adults and 2 little kids. There were not that many options available in Kajaani as we were late for the reservation. We had SuperiorX Queen room which was a bit too small for us. SuperiorX apparently meant bigger TV and sauna. The bathroom was nicely renovated but the sauna was really small and inconvenient (even not safe) for the kids. Comfortable beds and a small fridge (minibar) in the room made it easier. The staff was friendly and the breakfast comprehensive and tasty.

Room was nice and well stocked. Decent size and quiet, heard very little noise from other suites or the hallway. Very large bath tub complete with bubble bath. Blackout curtains were nice and the air conditioner kept the room reasonable. Breakfast buffet was very large with lots of options for all diets. Dinner menu also has good selection but a bit expensive. If you stay for more than 2 nights, getting a SCard is a good idea, which gives a daily meal benefit and access to a gym close to the hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
