Our visit here started badly as we learned out that we did not have the bigger lake side cottage reserved after all because of some mess up with the booking. We got a smaller and older cottage however and were offered even with a room from the hotel. Cottage we got was OK in principle but beds were rather lousy, the small kitchen had no ventilation of any kind, glass door in sauna was rotten and dangerous and the sauna made the cottage terribly hot to sleep in. With bit of a renovation these older cottages could be all ok, now I just felt that the price was all too high for what we got.

Great activity provider with genuine personal input
Lomakyla Inari

First of all you need to know that this is a family business, these guys own at least 4 other businesses in town including Lomakyla lodge and the cool double hull boat ride which departs next to SIIDA.
Me and my wife stayed at Lomakyla 4 days, that would be our total stay in inari. The place is clean and well maintained. 10 min walk from downtown. And right across from the INARI-IVALO bus station which was great!!
The place is managed by the Mother (who make amazing berry cupcakes) and her two young sons. They have their own mini dock and a lot of space for campers.
The rooms are made of wood, very well equipped for winter, just double check if all the heaters work (two in the main room + small one in the toilet), one of the 3 was not working.
The annexed kitchen is well equipped for small group stay. The beds are comfy … you might need to bring extra blankets for winter ( or call to check availability)
The older son Tuomas Lappalainen is extremely helpful , we were running around looking for reindeer trips which was impossible at that season since the herds are let loose , he called up couple of friend to check for seeing , took us in his van and drove us where the herds were. If it wasn’t for him … well we would have come all this way without seeing reindeer .
Highly recommend this place.

Highly recommended! We stayed at Cottage A with lake view for 3 nights. We can easily catch northern light any night time if the weather is good. It makes you save a lots as you don't have to join the expensive local tour for catching the light.
The cottage provide you basic facility, including sauna and kitchen. You can also find washing room within the camp site. But WIFI is not very stable and the room is very small for 6 ppl actually.
As for location, you can walk to the town in 5 minutes and can find a supermarket here.
Reminded that you have to inform the staff in advance if you arrive late.
