The views are wonderful but you will need a car or be prepared to walk a good 15 minutes up an unlit road which is very steep in places. We emailed to ask for an airport transfer but never got a reply. We never had anyone coming to clean the room - we had to stack our rubbish up as neatly as we would in the bin provided. The room itself did not have any furniture on the balcony, we had a downstairs room which was damp as was the bathroom - mould on the walls and ceiling. I had to clean the bathroom before we could use it. There was a fridge and a kettle. The wifi is free but is very slow. The outside areas were very scruffy and run down the pool area needed a good tidy up lots of weeds around. We had one meal there and a couple of breakfasts because there was nothing else around there to go to but these were very basic and not worth the 20 and 10 euros charged in our opinion. We had to ask for water for the room. If we hadn't have paid up front for the room and the fact that nothing else was available when we looked we would have moved hotels for definite. None of the staff from earlier reviews worked there Adrian who is running the show there now admitted that there was a lot of work that needed doing and he said that this was going to happen and also that he was going to change the name of the place to Lime Hill Lodge shortly. The way it is currently I couldn't in good conscience recommend this place to anyone.
Just home from spending four nights at the Albizia Lodge. Nice and close to the airport, and easy to find (although our rental car had a little bit of difficulty getting up the big hill...); but then again, that hill made for amazing views over the tree tops and the sea!
Room was spacious and clean, the lodge was lovely and we enjoyed both the common room and the pool area. Breakfast was really lovely with fresh fruit, toast, home baked bread, eggs and bacon; and the host family even prepared us homemade dinner one night when we didn't feel like going out. The owners were very attentive, friendly and helpful all throughout the stay.
If you like nice views and having a pool; but still enjoying that private, quiet and above all "homely" feel - this hotel is for you. Great value for money.
Stayed here with my husband for 4 nights at the start of July 2017. The owners are the most welcoming people we've ever met, made us feel at home right away. We got a great family size room on the top floor even though there was just the two of us. Room was very comfy and included a fridge, A/C and we also had a very private balcony. We were able to get Wifi in the room but it is better in the reception area. If staying here I do recommend hiring a car as it's a bit off the beaten track. The owners do offer airport transfers and there is also an optional breakfast for 12€ and dinner 30€.
We stayed here for 3 days. The family running the guest house are extremely nice and helpful. When we told them that we are vegetarian, they prepared food especially for us. The streets get deserted by 6:30 and we got late one evening. They helped us by picking us up from the main road. Room was amazingly clean & very well maintained. The only issue was there was no intercom to connect from room & we had to climb down 15 flights of stairs for any communication to be made. Other problem was reaching the hotel, as it is made n top of a hill, it's not advisable to travel on foot in evening.
We spent a week here, departing from our base (for 2 months) in Mauritius, and soon realised it was an excellent choice. The family run business of husband (Charlie), wife (Marie Rose) and son (Denis) were extremely obliging in every way. Charlie is an excellent chef who uses the herbs/vegetable and fruit he grows from the garden in his cooking. The breakfasts were second to none! Marie Rose runs the place and nothing is too much trouble. They even got up early on our last day to provide breakfast for us before departing for the airport at 7am.
The guest house has 6 rooms and we had the largest room which had a double and 2 single beds in it on the second floor. We had a wonderful view of the pool downstairs, the sea in the distance and all the trees/vegetation in between. We would recommend you have a car which cost us about £30 per day as we had one for 4 days. One English couple did not have a car and they caught buses each day to different parts of the island - if you have the energy!
We had a wonderful stay on the island and would thoroughly recommend this guest house to anyone who would enjoy a quiet and peaceful environment with the added bonus of a small pool.
