I want to go back!!!
I can easily say that my stay at the Casa Offshore and surf camp experience with Extreme Algarve exceeded my expectations!
I travel solo quite often and thought staying at the Casa Offshore with fellow surfers was a way better way to spend my time in Lagos than staying at Airbnb all alone....Well, I was not wrong about that.
There is a really cool and chill vibe at Casa Offshore. Ness and Denise run the place and they run it really good. They were super accommodating and attentive to my every need :) The "casa" itself was very clean and well-organized. It caters to every budget. If you want to spend less, you have an option to get a shared room and if you would rather pay bit more to have some privacy (still very affordable) you can either get your own room with en suite washroom or really nice single room with shared washroom. I decided to get a private room with shared washroom. My room had a lovely bed and really simple yet cute set up. My washroom was just outside my room in a little hallway (shared only with one other room). I really liked that my room had a door that I could use to walk out thru in the morning, to go into the garden or to a little building that was located nearby (common chill area and where breakfast was served in the morning). Breakfast was simple but always nice and fresh (fresh croissants with various spreads and freshly squeezed orange juice were my absolute favourites!).
I was there for about 5-6 days and surfed 4 days. Surfing and staying at Casa Offshore was extremely convenient and really fun. Picture this: 8 am delicious breakfast, around 9 am you head out to driveway of the casa where you get greeted by your (always happy) surf instructors, pick up your wetsuits, get into surf van and get driven to one of the many beautiful beaches nearby for a day in the sun while practicing surfing. How convenient is that? You spend few hours surfing, have a nice lunch with your new surf friends and instructors and head back to Casa Offshore to finish it with a nice swim in the pool and/or chill by the pool with a cold drink in your hand and chat with your fellow housemates, socializing and exchanging stories and/or bragging about your surfing accomplishments or lack thereof haha In the evening you go out to Lagos for a nice dinner and for couple of drinks (or more) to Three Monkeys (def recommend this spot). Old town Lagos is literally 10-15 min walk from the casa. On Mondays (I think) you are better off to stay in and enjoy paella & sangria night at the Casa Offshore. Whatever you do - DO NOT MISS OUT on that one! Our Spanish chef (I believe Edwardo) was the best and really cool to talk to as well! I mean, everybody there was just amazing. Aside from already mentioned Denise and Ness, I can't obviously forget about giving a huge shout out to Cam, Victor, Rohan and Ben, our amazing, helpful and oh-so-cool surf instructors (sorry guys if I somehow butchered your names :P). I just loved to talk to them and learn about all the countries they visited and all the cool experiences they had while surfing/travelling. I miss ya all! If you are lucky you will leave home with some cool surfing action shots of you made by Victor.
In conclusion, this is THE place to stay if you ever want to come to Lagos and surf. You won't be disappointed!
