Linda’s houseboat is very charming. Each couple (4 people) had their own room, bath, twin beds, small table w 2 chairs, refrigerator & TV. Each morning Linda served a true Dutch breakfast w yogurt, juice, hot tea, various breads, warm croissant, assorted meats & cheeses. If you started your day hungry, it was your fault. Plenty of breakfast to make sandwiches to go & she provided sandwich bags! Her location is close to tram, grocery store & OTC medications. Highly recommend her lovely home!
Our Hostess, Linda made our Houseboat experience a lovely visit. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay in a homey atmosphere. Linda provided maps and a wealth of information on the city. The trams were frequent and a within a 5 minute walk in distance. But, for the most part, we walked. It is a short walk to Dam Square, about half an hour. Restaurants were plentiful . Our breakfasts, in our room watching the life on the canal, was huge; juice, fruit, hot drinks, a variety of breads, jam, cheeses, meats, and eggs. I'm sure I left something out. Linda gave us plastic bags to make up a sandwich for later and still there were left overs. It was also very easy to book and Linda provided detail directions on finding her location. Well worth the visit.
From the very beginning it was brilliant. Linda and her husband Henk are a lovely couple who go our of their way to make their guests stay pleasant. Linda speaks perfect English, and the booking process was so easy, with great communication. From the moment my wife and I arrived we were made to feel so welcome. She took us to our lovely room complete with private bathroom. It was so nice walking in and seeing the canal, complete with ducks, right outside the window. Once we were settled in Linda joined us, and gave us maps and leaflets of Amsterdam, and plenty of good advice on how to enjoy this lovely city. The breakfast is simply amazing, loads of lovely food, and is eaten in the room looking through the window. Ample to make sandwiches for lunch (she provides plastic bags for them). The location is great, with trams every few minutes from about 100 metres away. There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as two supermarkets. Before we decided on the staying on the houseboat we read all of the reviews, all very good, and all absolutely true. It is a wonderful way to spend a holiday, and you will not better Houseboat Linda. You should try it, you won't be disappointed.
The room was clean, cozy, modern and comfortable, with a lovely view of the canal on which it is situated. The location is ideal; we walked to most of the attractions we visited but trams are also easily accessible as well as plenty of cafés, restaurants and supermarkets close by. Linda was the perfect host, giving us a great deal of useful information and suggestions for our time in the city, as well as a generous, tasty breakfast each day featuring local fare.
We stayed for 3 nights with Linda. Her warm welcome was lovely after our journey.
The room was clean and shower very good. Linda was very helpful with information about the city.
The breakfast in our room was delightful and arrived on time as arranged.
The tram stop was nearby so good for all locations.
Linda even arranged taxi for us to take us to airport.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to try something other than a hotel.
