Stayed here in September unaware of how bad this location is. All night i was woken by drunks fighting and people buzzing our door. Was horrible. There is no reception so people can just buzz any room from the outside. The rooms look very presentable however the kitchen was full of small cockroaches and bugs. Had to kill so many. One was even frozen in the freezer. In all honesty look somewhere else its a terrible location and be prepared for no sleep!
We stayed here early June. The check in using the code to collect your keys was very simple and worked perfectly. Elevator was working just fine during our stay.
The location of the apartment was excellent. Only 5 mins walk to train/tram station, supermarket and pharmacy. Be wary, nothing will be open on Sundays except at main station. The station closest is Wiedikon Zurich which is about 4 stops from the airport for about 6 CHF and 1 stop from Zurich main station. Day passes around Zurich using the train is about 8 CHF for 24 hrs. (Make sure you buy the day city ticket not the 80CHF around the whole of Switzerland!)
The apartment itself was small but came with a relatively well equipped kitchen (no kettle or microwave though) and towels were provided with a bar of soap and 1 small bottle of shower gel/shampoo
It had very good roller shutters which made the room lovely and dark to sleep in, however without air con in the middle of summer you would probably roast in there.
Bed was very comfy. Walls are VERY VERY thin you can hear everything including doors slamming and people moving around above you and next door. Bathroom needs a bit of work, smells a bit musty as not much air gets in there and the hot water pressure is pretty much non existant, but was still quite clean. But realistically this is Zurich - its not cheap!! And at around £50 a night, if you want a cheap, clean place to stay in Zurich with great transport links then this is the place.
Stayed for two days in May 2017 - there is no reception, just a safety deposit box in which lies your room key.
There is a lift which was only working for one day and then it was either out of action or disabled.
The corridor looks very old but once you are in the room (33) it was freshly painted and very clean. I had a double bed which was very comfortable and the shower was new and nicely tiled. I can confirm that the water was hot and the shower was powerful.
There was also a kitchenette , which had pots pans cups and even washing up liquid. There was also a kettle.
The Apartment is about a 15 min walk to the old town and the train station.
I had a really nice time no complaints.
The worst hotel ever .
Don't book in this hotel you are not safe.
--We stayed 1 night and during the night for 9 hours until the morning that we woke up there was a homeless drunk couple inside the floors hitting the room doors to enter....for 9 hours!!!
They were screaming the whole night outside our door !
How they enter?? Well there is no lobby ,no security, and the main door is always open ...everybody can come and in!!!
--The whole system with the key doesn't work ...we were trying for 30 minutes with the pin code to take the key ,until a guy came to fix the machine after we call them .
--Very Dirty room ,with hair every where...sticky floor and bad smell in the bathroom ...with awful pillows!
The hotel was under construction when I arrived and there is no reception or front desk, it's all automated and you need to enter a code to get your keys. It was late when I arrived, I was tired and figured out the system pretty quickly but when I got to my room there was no hot water... this really sucked because I needed a shower and wanted to go out in Zurich. I was forced into an icy bath. The location is pretty good, there are a few restaurants near by and there is a kitchen if you were staying longer than I was. Thankfully there was hot water in the morning, but checking out was a little tricky to figure out as well. The room itself is nice and was a great value at $70CHF on booking.com but the hot water was a deal breaker for me... They did offer free WiFi but you need a phone number to text a response to in order to activate it. Maybe in a few months, all of the kinks will be worked out, but when I stayed it was still a bit of a disaster.
