Very good breakfast. Excellent friendly staff. Very clean rooms and facilities. Nice bar in the lobby and one next door on the street. Great location, within a minute's walk of the lake and easy to get public transportation outside the door. Room was very nicely setup and felt spacious. I was lucky to get a room with a small balcony that looked out to the lake and mountains. All the staff were super friendly and full of smiles.

Hotel Rebstock made a mixed impression on me. First of all the entrance to the hotel and the restaurant is the same, the elevator is good for 2 persons and only stops at middle floors i.e. stairs must be used to reach the floor where the rooms are; no problem for me, I gave the elevator a miss but it will cause difficulties for persons with restricted mobility. The size of the room and bathroom with shower was sufficient. Floors are constructed with wood producing some noise when persons on the floor above walk around during bedtime. Breakfast was good with muesli, Swiss cheese and sausages, jam, fresh bread and beverages. The free WiFi was sufficiently fast; bedding was clean but a bit too soft for my liking. The heating did not work properly thus avoid room 128 when it is cold outside.

The location is perfect, next to Hofkirche and river Reuss, and in walking distance to most attractions. The reception staff was very helpful and friendly, the same applies to the staff at the bar and at breakfast. My car was parked at a daily fee of 25 Swiss Franc. The hotel provides a free travel pass for the public transport within the city.
Switzerland is expensive but I still think that Rebstock Hotel is overpriced, and in my opinion rather 3* than the claimed 4* hotel.

I stayed in August 2019 for one night in Lucerne. Upon checking in, I realize I have made a folly mistake and booked for the wrong date. Frantic and panicked. Knowing that the hotel was fully booked out. The gentleman at the counter, Vincenzo assured me not to be worried and will try his best to work out a way for me and my mom. True enough they showed me to a large room at the top floor which is supposedly meant for single occupant stay. The bed was smaller but no complaints. A room filled with true Swiss feel. Felt like I was transported back to the olden days. The staircase leading to the room has lots of character. Oh and they had a strong waiter, to carry it up for us.

The location is unbeatable. Few steps to the riverside and iconic church. And love the sound of the bells from the church too.

Throughout the short stay, I felt like home :)

This is NOT a 4 star hotel - by any standard!

Pro - hotel is in a nice area, the outside is pretty and staff is friendly.

Cons - this hotel is WAY over priced. We stayed at another local hotel (Ameron), paid less and there is no comparison. The Ameron was beautiful!! Free water, soft drinks, chocolate, etc. The Rebstock is old (not in a nice antique kind of way). The room feels like a dorm room. All the furniture is cheap. The room is tiny and so is the bathroom.

I am sooooo disappointed.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Lucerne. Lovely hotel. The room was delightful with lake views and the square below. Food was excellent and the staff were just lovely. All of them. So helpful in every way. Perfectly situated. Would definitely return.
