My husband and I just returned from a seven night stay at the Oltrano Splendid Hotel in Florence.
The hotel is located about 2 minutes walk away from the nearest bridge to cross over – a truly brilliant location. The property is beautifully deccorated, it has a really fun feel to it mixing retro with new. The public areas are wonderful. You can help yourself all day to coffee, snacks etc. There is also an honesty bar.
Our room was very big and felt really cosy. I seemed to be totally soundproof – we never heard any sounds from the street or fellow guests at all.
A very special mention to all the staff at the Oltrano Splendid. Everybody went out of their way to assist us with any request we had. Nothing is too much. It is so nice when you check into a hotel and being treated like a family member.
To sum this up we will definitely stay at the Oltrano Splendid again.
Big thanks for a wonderful 7 days.
Sleep quality 10. Location 10. Decor 10. Service 10. In my 16 years on TA, not many hotels have received this score from me. Oltrarno Splendid is that kind of boutique hotel that manages to effortlessly hit all spots on target. Each room has endless details that "spark joy", and on top of that, the rooms are comfortable, well-equipped, and in good working order. The hotel has a front desk person during daytime hours which is great for directions, advice, help with booking restaurants and taxis, etc. The breakfast is the best one we encountered on this trip to italy - fresh fruit salad, espresso, freshly baked pastries and breads, yogurts, muesli, etc. Location is perfect - away from the tour bus hordes, and tucked away amidst the boutiques, small restaurants, and bars in the Oltrarno district. Try Trattoria alla Vecchia Bettola to experience the original penne vodka that Ina Garten is famous for. This hotel is well worth booking in advance.
Really is the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in, boutiquey and easily the most pleasant, helpful and welcoming staff. We stayed in the top floor room which is large and very comfortable, even has views of all you plan to see.
This place is for independent and travelled persons looking for something extra but that does not need all the extras hotels are providing such as room service, 24/7 staff, conecierge or SPA.
This is a B&B with super charm, staffed between 8 am- 7,30 PM
you get cleaning every day, breakfast served every day, lonuge with coffea, tea and snacks all day. Wonderful and helpful staff during available time.
We loved this place, you arrive to the gate which looks like entrance to a residens. And inside is a retro but very clean and new interior with a fantastic taste.
The area is close to really good restaurants and bars, but also all the main attractions is within 5-10 minutes walk. If you are sensetive to sounds, choose a room against the inneryard and not the street,
But if you are looking for full staffed service this is not a hotel. But if you usually rent a apartment, but still want some service this is a perfect choice.
We actually booked this B&B with a Mr&Mrs Smith voucher given to us as a wedding present and it did not disappoint! This is SUCH a beautifully decorated place to stay, each room has the most amazing interior design (not something I realised I was that interested in before coming here and seeing how amazing the rooms are). The free standing bathtub was so amazing to sink into before bed after long days walking in Florence. The staff were really friendly and the location is great, in more of a locals area in a good way and short walking distance to all of the main attractions as well as the train station. This really added to our enjoyment of Florence and I would recommend this to anyone. We thought breakfast was really good for Italy, delicious pastries with fruits, tea, coffee, cheeses, toast - everything we needed and we really liked the idea of the complimentary tea and pastries you could have during the day. There is a lounge area if you want to use it, again with gorgeous decor and the place just feels like home (albeit an incredibly glamorous and romantic one). If we had any suggestion being really picky it would be for an English speaking TV channel but who comes to Florence to watch TV and there is the option to connect to netflix if you have it with a smart TV! Thanks for a wonderful stay - we loved it!
