It is simple: if you do decide to go to Catania (and this is a separate discussion) then EH13 is the best you can stay at. You can find better rooms at a fancy, seven star, hotel but you will not find anyone better than Salvatore to help you with anything that you know you need in the city, and, what is so much more important, with absolutely anything you might need while staying in the city. He was so helpful and accommodating that no money can buy.
The location is very central. The interior design is superb. I liked the bed. The bathroom is spotless clean. The shower is large and water pressure is good enough for any hair. The bidet is useful and very clean. There is a balcony and you can see the Duomo from it (see the picture. It only looks like it is far. It’s only 10-15 minute walk to it)
Small inconvenience for the late risers - the rooms are adjacent to a common room where guests have breakfast and the room door sound insulation is not great. But, again, you can get that at any place even at a Ritz.
We'd highly recommend this B&B. Our room was very well presented with a fantastic view of Mt Etna. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful. The owner in particular, took time to talk to us and let us store our bags until we were ready to leave Catania.
The location is very central, close to the main sites. It was slightly difficult to find the right building - but there is a sign in the building next door and you then buzz the doors to the right of the sign.
We stayed four nights at this delightful bed and breakfast. Not only was our room comfortable & view spectacular but Salvatore is one of the most gracious host immaginable. He is extremely helpful and knowledgable. The breakfast was lovely and still dream about the amazing pastries!
The B&B is perfectly located, in the city centre but in a quiet street, very close to all sights and restaurants. The first day we took the Alibus (shuttle from the Catania Airport) and the Bellini stop it is just a 2 minute walk from the B&B. On the second day we had a rental car and Salvatore, who is the best host ever, advised us on where we could easily find a parking spot. He also gave us very good recommendations on restaurants and things to see -- we tried several of the places he suggested and they were all very good.
Regarding the B&B, it is nicely decorated and very clean. The room was big and comfortable and the breakfast was also very good, particularly Salvatore's fruit salad!
In short, I would totally recommend this place.
Fantastic service from Salvatore, the host. He really cares that his guests have a good time and enjoy Catania. He gave us top recommendations for restaurants and organised a great guide from Etna Sicily Touring to take us up Mount Etna. Antonio was a geologist/natural scientist and made the trip so interesting. Our room had a bird's eye view of Mount Etna across the Bellinin Gardens and a balcony to sit out and enjoy it. Breakfast was delicious - cannot recommend this place highly enough. Book it - you will not be disappointed.
