This place has no idea about customer service and basically tries to rip you off. We ended up paying 140 Euro extra for leaving two small bags for 14 days as we didn’t understand that the fee was 10 Euros per day, not 10 Euros in total - this was twice what we would have paid at a different storage facility in Venice. I have never had to pay for luggage storage at a hotel I have stayed at ever. Usually they provide this service for free. Also there is a list of ‘fines’ in the room ranging from 5 Euro to 50 Euro for offences such as eating in the room. You are also charged extra on arrival for bed linen and towels which was a surprise. They are very hard to communicate with and I got bitten by bed bugs. In short, don’t do it!
We were walking distance from the station. The room was good and there was a sharing kitchen and bathroom.
Our flight was a bit delayed so when we got there the place was locked.....Lucky I had the phone number and the host came after I rang.
So, make sure you get the phone number from the host because they are not there all the time. The hosts move around their guest houses checking other people in. If you are not their in time, make sure you let your host know.
We liked the concept of the guest house and this one was an old place full of character. Once we were all checked in, given maps and advice, we were on our own. Shared kitchen, computer/wifi, and sitting room with a spacious private room. Everything very clean and the landlady was really nice. The beds were a bit poky but there were extra blankets so we made due. They are only there to meet you and check you in so be sure to be precise about when you are arriving. We had no issues with service, unfair charges, and received receipts in other reviews. Most places we stayed wanted the taxes paid cash on arrival so be prepared for that. The location is amazing. Quiet residential area with the canal on your doorstep, restaurants galore and easy walking to any of the main tourist areas.
