We spent 2 nights and were sorry to leave. The inn is ideally located to see all the chateaux and is nestled in the countryside in a peaceful pastoral setting. There is a lovely pool and tennis court on the property. The buildings date back to the 16th C, and many original features, for example, carvings in stone and wood, wrought iron grillwork and huge hearths, are preserved. The spotless room was charming and well-appointed, with a modern bathroom. There was a slanted ceiling in our room and being tall, we had to watch our heads in certain areas, but this was not a big deal, especially in Europe. The hosts were extremely hospitable and informative, providing maps, an umbrella and discounted admissions to local attractions. The breakfast was fresh, ample and delicious. We will be back when we visit the Loire Valley again.
