+ Cleaniless, polite & pleasant stuff, convenient & quiet location close to metro and restaurants, 3.5Km from eiffel, low price in an expensive city
- Very small room lacking of: refrigirator, airconditioning, electrical sockets (1 available), closets, space to put the luggages, safe. Old fashioned, no style and needs renovation...
Overall, cheap but not convenient..if you do not spend a lot of time in the hotel and you do not need the above facilities could be a solution..But the average rating specified in Trip Advisor is not realistic..
I found it difficult to decide on a rating but it was important to me to capture my thoughts here since so many others either loved this place or gave it a poor review for the size of the room. We stayed here for 3 nights in April and had two rooms to accommodate our older teen and ourselves. What was fine or good: Paris has small rooms so that was no problem and the location was great. The owners are very nice and the beds were comfortable. What brings me to a poor review are: Wifi did not work at all in rooms (important for a teen and when traveling - I am now over my data limit since this trip), if dealing with anyone other than owners there was a lot of confusion, there is construction both in the hotel and outside so not quiet, mold in bathroom, paper-thin walls so you hear everything from other rooms and hall and finally, despite paying in advance as we had to leave early on final day there was some mixup and we spent 15 minutes clarifying this with the owner. You want to review it higher because the owners are just kind individuals who do want to do a good job but the negatives outweighed the positives for us. That said, the price reflects a very cheap stay so as long as you do not try to convince yourself that it will be as cute as the pictures you could be satisfied as it is an extremely cheap way to stay in Paris as a family. Average would have been my rating without the extra negatives.
We stayed here for a few nights mid September. We've visited Paris a few times and my husband and I both agreed that the best part of this hotel was the location. It's very close to the Metro and there are many great restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was not great. The room was SO SMALL. I've stayed in hostel rooms bigger than the room we had here. There wasn't even enough room on the floor to open our suitcase all the way! Two people could not walk around the room at the same it was that small. The toilet was in a separate room from the shower, which I expected, but the toilet room was so tiny that you couldn't sit comfortably and shut the door all the way. There were cracks in the floor/walls with peeling paint and there were two rather large dips in the floor under the carpet. They seemed like holes that were never repaired and just had carpet installed over them. The breakfast is also a rip off; there are plenty of place to grab breakfast in the area for less than the cost of breakfast here. Next time I visit Paris I would absolutely stay in Montparnasse again but I would NOT stay at this hotel again.
The hotel is a small and very cozy hotel. I arrived here after braking my foot in the south of France. The staff went above and beyond any service-level I had previously experienced. The room was very clean, as were the hotel itself, what I saw of it.
A coin operated minibar in the reception took care of any desires I had, allowing me to not hop around on crutches in the rain, keeping my cast dry.
For Paris, I feel the value for money was very good and I'll book the same hotel next time I travel to Paris
I am really baffled by the high ratings given to this hotel. This was easily the worst hotel of our Europe trip. All the hotels we booked were in a similar price range.
1) The walls are paper thin. You will hear everything. Even with earplugs I was woken up around 7AM every morning by someone banging doors.
2) The doors are hard to figure out, causing your neighbors to bang doors at all hours.
3) There is construction next door. They start around 7:30 AM, and they work Saturdays. If your neighbors didn't wake you, the construction workers will.
4) Our room featured a toilet in a closet. No joke. See the attached pictures. After you close the door, there is barely any room in there at all.
Hotel is also pretty run down, especially the hallways. Our window curtains were ripped and were hard to close. Paint was chipping above the shower.
The neighborhood is OK. It's a little far from everything.
